Prediction: wrong Maynard   wrong KO/TKO   wrong Round 2  

I'm picking maynard by tko in the second because I think he can do what he did last time, but have learned from his mistakes and pace himself for the finish. However, in the back of my mind I'm also thinking Edgar via guillotine, because the two he did in the second fight were awfully close, especially that one at the end of the third (well, I believe it was the third).

Nelson Hamilton and Cecil Peoples didn't see fit to award Gray Maynard a 10-8 first round.  So that basically means they don't believe in 10-8 rounds, period. Load of BS if you ask me.

thank yous Frankie showed he can outclass Maynard when he finds rhythm in the first fight, he had the same scare in the first round but ultimately prevailed. In a fast changing lightweight weightclass I see Frankie as champ becoming the only constant in the division and I don't know how I feel about it.

It wasn't as exciting as the 2nd fight, but Edgar overcame adversity, and won the fight in dramatic fashion. Maynard lost himself the fight by not listening to his corner. Maynard didn't do anything his corner told him to do. They told him to go for takedowns, and he went for one half-assed takedown 2 rounds after they told him to use his wrestling. They told him to push the pace, and he slowed down. They told him to throw no less than 4 punch combinations, and he threw one punch at a time. Maynard lost that fight because he refused to listen to his corner, and after the first round, he started fighting Edgar's fight.

Wow, really Soccer?? You're still not convinced that Edgar is the best? Was it not obvious that he was better in the 2nd fight and even better in the 3rd as well as better in the 2nd Penn fight? This is why I have him #2 p4p (behind Cain) and have Anderson and GSP at 5 & 6. Most of Silva's "competition" is scared and he is too old school in that he's lacking in one of the fundamental areas of MMA and GSP doesn't fight anymore, he plays a sport for the win, imo, which I personally don't respect as much as fighters who try to finish without being overly concerned with being finished. This is fighting (with rules), not a self defense class. I don't want non-competitive fights and if they are then I expect the more dominant fighter to pursue the finish with more than a passing interest.

I see Maynard and Frankie very evenly matched...And the series being 1-1-1 shows that...Gray will just beat every challenger and make the LW division look like the WW division with the #2 guy out there beating everyone else why the UFC continues to give guys title shots over him
