He was much more aggressive in the Amoussou fight as well. Maybe that was the problem all along. He just needed to be more aggressive.

The fact that Askren can beat everyone with pretty much no MMA skills except wrestling is a testament to his talent. Wish he would develop those other skills though, cause there's no way in hell we'll ever see him in the UFC otherwise.

He trains at Roufusport and is bound to have access to Pettis and Koch and others there and of course their famed striking coach. I think he enjoys frustrating and smothering his opponents, why wouldn't a fighter do what they are great at? Make your opponent adjust to your strength. He gets a lot of **** for it, but people always find something to ***** about, I'm guilty of it sometimes myself. I've even seen people ***** about Rousey only winning with armbars... I don't know the point I'm trying to make so I'm going to stop typing.
