Vaughn Lee vs Alex Caceres would be very interesting.

I think he would. That fight is something that both guys would likely love.

It would definitely be a fun fight.

I am among those who are more interested in Cain/Werdum. I realize there is a danger in holding off on the obvious #1 vs. #2 but feel reasonably certain that JDS would beat whoever they give him in the meantime, preferably Overeem.

I definitely do NOT want to see Nog vs. Hunt. No challenge on the ground and the possibility of another concussion wouldn't entertain me. If Nog sticks around, Struve, Gonzaga, or Big Country would be my choices. Yes I know about the winners facing winners thing but with a thin division and big names I think they could make exceptions.

Most of the matchups I've seen in this thread are interesting.

I'm with Jaffa in that I think Lee deserves an easier fight than Bowles and I still like Assuncao/Dillashaw more than Wineland.

The reason I said Bowles was because  he has lost two fights in a row and has been inconsistent or poor in his UFC career outside his win over Page.

I just think that due to the layoff mostly that Bowles appears to be on the way down and there's no upside for Vaughan: if he wins, Bowles has lost it/he doesn't get credit for a top 10 win and if he loses his record will probably get him cut.

I'm a Bowles fan and think it would be a good fight for Brian just not the other way around.

Honestly,I probably would pick Lee to win over Bowles too judging from Bowles' last fight.

Lee hasn't had an easy road in the UFC. Not even close. I like Brian Bowles, I had since his early WEC days.. I still do even after that RIDICULOUS 20:1 TRT ratio. But in all honesty, I would pick Lee over Bowles.

I guess I wouldn't and that's why I think it's a bad fight for Lee. Bowles has above average wrestling and devastating power and I don't think Lee would be able to get him to the ground so would get KOed but I guess I just sort of described Kid Yamamoto didn't I?   **** it, I'm on board  :D

Although I think Vaughan should have the option to turn down the fight if he wants.

That's a good idea for a ranking: Who's had the hardest/most unfair matchmaking road?

1st 2 that come to mind are Bartimus and Carlos Eduardo Rocha.

Yeah 0-4 with losses to GSP, Ellenberger, and Woodley would qualify except for that 4th loss - a KO loss to Jonathan Goulet??

But I agree they could've made a "loser loses his high paying contract match" with Akiyama before they cut him.

But yeah I freely admit I was going to post just to agree because I remember the GSP fight and didn't remember the Goulet loss until I looked at his tapology page. That's a head-scratcher there.

I wouldn"t call the Goulet fight a knockout  as much as i would say it was stopped because of ridiculous amounts of blood from a cut.

I said Wanderlei/Thiago Silva, but really.. A fight I would love to see is Glover/Thiago.

I don't think Thiago has earned a fight with Glover right now, I think Rich Franklin, Phil Davis, and Gegard Mousasi make lots of sense (I am kind of weird)

I'm also baffled how everyone threw a **** fight about Overeem's T:E ratio and yet Brian Bowles has garnered little attention for 20:1.... Histories aside, Bowles may have set a record that may never be broken for T:E ratio!

I really liked Thiago performance, I was very happy to watch him fight again. I like that he looked calm and focused on his strategy, he still had his killer instinct but he fought smart and thats what I liked the most, if he applies himself and focus on his training and leaves his **** behind he could still have a good career.

I´d like to see him fight Ryan Bader, that would be a good match for both of them

I agree with Thiago vs Bader. As for Werdum he could fight for the Title. If he needs to stay busy he could fight the winner of Browne vs Overeem, or Mir vs Barnett.
