I remember watching Kongo lose to Carmello Marerro back at UFC 60-something and thinking, "Man this Kongo guy sure does look scary, but man does he suck." Never in a million years would I have guessed he would still be a UFC fighter like 7 years later.

He's definitely come a long way, but Nelson is just a terrible match up for him. Kongo has better kicks. Nelson has literally every other advantage...except perhaps cardio.

Kongo is still a great HW. He has some solid striking and powerful ground and pound. Nelson is a terrible match for him though. Nelson has HEAVY hands-Kongo has a weak chin.

The only thing I would give Kongo any advantage in, is the obvious, kicks. Other then that, Nelson everywhere.

Mike, your breakdowns are just way too simple. Kongo has a weak chin and Nelson has KO power therefore Nelson will win.

While I agree, it goes much deeper than that. Kongo is not a solid striker; he's a bad boxer who makes up for his countless **** ups with his ridiculous reach and while he does kick well he rarely kicks people for the fear of getting taken down.

Let's be honest here. Kongo doesn't have the same power as Dos Santos, and Roy went to a decision with him. Roy got a granit chin, and a pretty sick ground game. As said earlier Kongo doesn't use his kicks too much, because he is afraid og getting TD.

I predict a one punch overhand right, or a crusifix (how to spell that?) TKO. :)
