I thought the stoppage was just fine. Lawler was going to keep raining down more shots like he normally does to opponents he has hurt. Koscheck will be back, still top 15 material and I think would win a rematch.

I thought stoppage was early, especially if you take into the fact that Herb Dean had previously let Grice fight through much worse imo. Nevertheless, I think Lawler was on his way to winning after that 1st round display.

@PerfectEnemy however Koscheck was in way more trouble than Grice, Grice barely hit the ground if ever and Koscheck was getting pounded on the ground and was going to get KO'd by Lawlers GnP.

@mikeyg Debatable. Worse position absolutely, worse condition no. As Rogan stated, Koscheck was still "active" and not all of Lawler's shots were landing upon replay. Grice may have been standing but he was getting pounded and was up against the cage to most likely prevent him going down. He was definitely in daze survival mode.
All in all it's a matter of opinion, Lawler deserved the win.

@PerfectEnemy I don't see how it's debateable, Lawler has a huge track record of finishing fights after the guy is hurt on the ground and Kos wasn't even defending his face at the end. Honestly, who cares if the guy is moving around and who cares even more if he protests right away, of course he wants to continue, doesn't mean he should. Kos was ****** up.

Even though I had kosckeck winning the fight I think the ref ended the fight a little early. But to be fair he was going to knock him out eventually so I don't have that big of a problem with the call.

I didn't think it was an early stoppage. He was not really defending and was only a couple of punches away from being totally out. Lawler hits hard, especially in that position.
