IMO this seems closer to EVEN than the line of -285 Quinton Jackson to +225 Glover Texiera.  I mean both these guys have knockout power...Jackson is a very good wrestler (ex. Dan Henderson fight) so that should help him dictate where the fight takes place...so does anyone have any intelligent insight into why the line for this is so skewed?

That's quite odd. I would say it is Rampage's legacy, but then again Gustafsson was the favorite against Shogun. And that's about a similar fight. Rampage's last 2 fights have been unimpressive. The line could be resting on Rampage's ability to defend takedowns because most of Texeira's handiwork has been done on the ground.

Realistically: the betting line often shifts. When Jones fought Belfort, it was at 15 to 1, then closed at 8 to 1 or 7 to 1 if my memory serves me correctly. Don't be surprised if Glover is the favorite shortly before the fight.

Just saw your latest post. Ignore the first part of my previous post then. However, the second part about the line shifting is very true.

I don't think the line is skewed at all.  Rampage hasn't looked impressive since he KO'd Wanderlei.  A lot of people think he didn't truly beat Machida and his win over Hammill was so lethargic that I fell asleep.  Bader just recently manhandled him as well.  Glover's been tearing through his competition, so I'm not really surprised he's favored (I'm picking him).

I gotta agree with @MQ, Rampage has looked poor lately while Glover has looked like an absolute beast.

-285 for glover and +225 for rampage seems about right. Rampage has been I impressive for the last year+ and glover is the hot new thing.
