I predict that after Maia, they will continue to refuse to give him contenders. They will next offer him Nate Marquardt and after that, Aaron Simpson. They will never give him a Top 5 again, ever. They couldn't care less about his winning.

Maia is ranked around #10, Marquardt isn't even top 15. They are soft contenders, at best.
When Penn lost to a 145 guy twice, he was never made to re-certify his credentials. He's lost his last 2 fights and looked terrible in the process, yet he will NEVER be demoted.
You guys are so naive. You're falling into Dana's trap. Why should Fitch have to prove anything? Why was he dropped? You guys still don't get it.

By far the most interesting fight of Fitchs career. Fitch is a grinder, great wrestler, great control, and pretty good jiu jitsu. Both offensive and defensive. Maia has amazing grappling, everything about his grappling is superb.
This fight will be a ridiculous ground battle and this is by far the fight I am looking forward to most. Picking Fitch, hoping for Maia. Can't wait.

Fitch is a good wrestler too but it isn't impossible to take him down, as BJ Penn, Eric Silva or others showed.
Once this is on the ground Maia wins it...

When you're basically a one trick pony you'll always get exposed against the better fighters. Some are putting way too much stock in the fact Maia beat Kim due to an injury and beat Rick Story who isn't that good. That KO by Hendricks was the best thing that could have happened to Fitch.
