There's a nice new interview up this morning from MMA Weekly on Gregor Gracie. Most of you may not have heard much about Gregor, which is why I thought I'd point the interview out. Gregor has been an instructor of mine at Renzo Gracie Academy for the last few years, and this article echoes my view that he has the most promise of any young Gracie to make a dent in the UFC or other big-time MMA. There are a half a dozen other Gracie family members at the academy, but to me Gregor really stands out for his strength, athleticism, and a totally smothering top game, a la Paulo Filho or Jake Shields at their best. With a few more years of all-around work, he could be UFC-ready.
In the event that he turns into a star, it would be cool to say you all heard it from me first.
