I am surprised that no one has started this thread yet.

I know this is an MMA website but I bet that there are some Boxing Fans out there.

I just love the sport of fighting in general and I have been raised by boxing.

So in this Thread we can discuss the "Sweet Science"

such as
Past Fights
Upcoming Events
Favorite Fighters
and Historical Figures in the Sport

Because like MMA in the US, Boxing started out illegal. But where it took MMA less than 25 years to gain the General populations approval, It took boxing over 100 years.

Discuss and have fun.

Manny Pacquiao has agreed to the 45-55 deal for a fight with Floyd Mayweather
It is now in Mayweather's move now.

Do you think this will happen?
on a scale of one to ten, ten being a definite yes to a fight and explain.

2, this fight has been talked about for the past 4 years. and if it was a no then, it is a no now.

Depends on what you mean. I actually do think this fight has a good chance of happening......just not until it's less important than Hopkins/RJJ II was. I give it a 1.5/10 for happening by June 30, 2013. I give it a 6.5/10 for happening by December 31, 2017.

I have no doubt in my mind the fight will happen eventually. It's just gonna take some time I guess. Pacquiao is giving Mayweather better deals then he deserves to be getting. Pacman wants the fight, if Mayweather doesn't take it now then I legitimately think he is scared.

This fight will draw big numbers in my opinion.
this would be an interesting fight.

I don't think that Saul will be ready for a Floyd, but he will bring what he can.

He just better train and train hard, cause Cotto exposed some things in Floyd's style and he is a good example to follow off of.

RICKY HATTON HAS RETURNED!!!

Ricky Hatton will face Vyacheslav Senchenko of Ukraine in his comeback fight on November 24

“Senchenko lost the last time he fought but he has a good pedigree” said Ricky at yesterday’s presser.

“I can’t wait to get in the ring now.I’m sure that Vyacheslav will give me a good fight but it’s one I am confident I can win. I believe this was as good an opponent as I could have had.

“I’m in great shape. I’m feeling good and I know I can put on a performance for those watching.”

Floyd vs Alvarez

I think Alvarez is a tune up for Pacquiao. That fight has to happen. After watching the Pacquiao Marquez fight and seeing what a strong counter puncher does to Manny, I don't think Manny has a shot against Floyd. I like Manny more as a fighter and person but Floyd is better, bigger and faster. That is all assuming Manny gets past Marquez. One of the reasons people are leaving boxing for mma is the best guys refuse to fight each other. Why is that? Maybe because there are to many champions at each weight. I only watch huge fights now but I grew up watching all the Tyson fights, Lewis fights and other major fights.

Floyd vs. Alvarez is a bad fight for Alvarez. He's not ready for that good of competition. Also, why wait until May for your next fight at his age? The timing and the opponent are both terrible for Canelo. Having said that, this is perfect for Floyd. Here's a young guy with a ton of hype that will bring in more PPV draws than most other opponents and Floyd's going to be able to get anything he wants in the fight contract because Canelo isn't in a position to negotiate where he doesn't make anywhere near the money Floyd does.

As for Ricky Hatton, why exactly is he coming out retirement? He must need the money. Frankly, the drugs and everything that happened after he retired were probably too much for him to make a truly successful come back. I believe he should beat Senchenko, but if he tries to get fights with the likes of Ortiz, Bradley, Berto, or Alexander afterwards, he's screwed.

Today Alexander Povetkin TKO'd Hasim Rahman in the 2nd round. Now everybody wonders when Povetkin is finally going to fight good fighters to go along with his 25-0 (17 KO) record. It would be nice if he would fight Arreola, Helenius, or somebody in that area, because I honestly have no idea if Povetkin's actually good or if his record is just 100% padded.

Floyd will own Canelo and Pacman...honestly I'm not a huge fan of Mayweather but he does make me laugh at his obnoxiousness. I really believe he would defeat Pac pretty easily, his defensive boxing is unparalleled.
