I think Diaz could have been out that last time he went down. This fight could have been stopped for either fighter.

That fight was incredible. Holy ****. I can't believe Diaz knocked Daley out that badly. Some people might call a bad stoppage but that's not true at all. Daley couldn't even get up they had to help him onto his damn stool. Diaz ****** him uuuup. I knew when Daley dropped without even getting hit that he was absolutely done. I'm so overly impressed with Nick Diaz right now I'm starting to think he could actually compete with GSP. Nick Diaz is a monster and easily a top 5 welterweight.

Wow Diaz and Melendez just sky rocketed not only their places in their respective weight divisions, but their places in the sport as a whole. Both are absolute killers and now have just opened the door to unifying the belts, and may very well be now considered favorites over the UFC's current champs. Its amazing how on one night the mma landscape can shift.

I believe Melendez could beat Edgar/Maynard - he's right up there with them. But I would have to put Diaz as a heavy underdog to GSP. The force is strong in that one.

I agree and was about to post that. While Melendez and Diaz both earned impressive R1 KO's, Diaz's standing in the division isn't much different. Firstly, he didn't dominate Daley like Melendez did Kawajiri. Secondly, Diaz would still have problems with the wrestlers of the WW division. I don't see him getting past GSP, Fitch, or Koscheck. Diaz vs Penn or Alves would be great fights though.

For all the people who voted by last comment down. Prove me wrong, when was the last UFC event that was as entertaining as this event?

UFC fighters play the point game. Strikeforce fighters come to put in work.
