Also I will add, that I have GSP and Fedor about equal in being well rounded (no one even close to either of them after), but for different reasons. I just don't want to go into a long write up right now because I'm quite tired.

I don't understand how the hell people think GSP is gonna finish Condit when he couldn't even finish Hardy.

@Anik My point is that everyone makes mistakes and that getting tapped by grapplers on the skill level of Hughes and Werdum shouldn't take away from a persons accomplishments. I mean god forbid these guys making a mistake. It's like saying that Big Nog isn't a good grappler because he made a mistake against Mir and Mir being the killer he is made a perfect counter and destroyed that arm. It's like saying that Fitch or Bendo are bad grapplers because they were subbed by unremarkable fighters (granted Pyle is pretty damn good on the ground).

I would rather look at their accomplishments throughout their careers instead of one instance.

well to be fair GSP let go of the millions of subs that he had because he didn't want to injure Dan Hardy too badly. Anyone who watched the fight knows that.

I still think if GSP cranked hard on that armbar and kimura for a little longer Dan Hardy would've tapped. We definitely know that he knows the meaning of the word tap now.

"Well rounded you say? **** being a circle, I'm just going to punch, kick, and knee people until they're half dead. If they take me down I'll submit them."

It's been proven over and over that being well rounded doesn't neccessarily mean ****. Anderson is one example, he has no wrestling, but it's simply not needed. Chuck Liddell made a living based off of brutal punches and take down defense, same with JDS, and there's a ton of other very successful fighters that have at least one glaring weakness in their game, but they win anyway.

@CthulhuJones You're right, being well-rounded doesn't necessarily mean ****.

But GSP is not just a jack of all trades, he is a master of all. That's what sets him apart.

I can't argue that. He's insanely talented and as you've said he is the greatest welterweight to ever fight MMA to this point. I just fear that the surgery may leave him a step slower with his striking, and could possibly cut down on the power of his takedowns. I believe GSP definitely holds the edge everywhere against Condit other than unorthodox striking, but if he shows up to the fight and doesn't have the same movement and explosiveness as he has in the past it wouldnt surprise me to see Condit land with some of his crazy spinning **** and get a stoppage. Ring rust and ACL surgery, these kinds of things interest me.

I don't think ring rust will be a big factor since Condit hasn't fought for almost 10 months either, which is enough time to make sure he's not sharp enough to cash in on a ring rust advantage.

I guess, the main factor is how GSP's knee is and even more important how GSP's confidence in his knee's recovery is. The knee can be perfect, but if GSP doesn't truly believe that it is, he's going to be tentative. Tentative vs. Condit = KO'd by crazy spinning **** :)

My guess is that GSP would rather blow out his knee again and retire than suffer a tentative and lackadaisical loss. Come back or go out with a boom, which ever comes. If you think about it, if his knee isn't good enough to compete on the highest level, do you really see GSP carrying on in mediocracy? Nope, he'd rather find out now that his knee's ****** for good and retire a legend who's career was cut short by injury. It's not like he needs the money.

So I don't see him holding back.

Can the house provide examples of others with torn ACLs.  And how they fared?  Has anyone ever had a torn ACL and recovered 100%?
