If Dana does everything right, the sport with thrive even when he retires. But as someone already pointed out, let's worry about that in 7 years.

well good for dana he deserves his time with how much work he has put in, but 7 years is still a long time.

Also i bet he still plays a big part but he just doesnt do all of it anymore if he retires.

@jesus, I agree Dana it's irreplecable, but I don't think he will retire completly, Can you imagine Dana sitting in his couch doing nothing, watching the UFC events on TV and, knowing ppl are ******* things up and not doing anything about, I don't see that happening even if he's 70, he probably just play a smaller roll in the promotion, but I can't see him leaving the UFC, I mean if chuck couldn't why would Dana, it's his ******* baby, but still it definetly won't be the same

This guy is not only the President of the UFC but the most important icon of the sport; If he were to leave now, MMA would struggle to grow and I seriously doubt it would continue to grow at the same rate as it is now.
Hopefully if he decides to leave in 8 or 10 years from now, MMA will be in a whole new level where he won't be as needed as he is now.

I am hereby putting my name in the hat as replacement. I love UFC, own my own plane, and say **** just as much if not more than he does.  I would even job shadow for the next 7 years, and shave my head, as horrible as that may be.  I'd do it for you guys!

So many things can change in a 7 year span. It might be earlier it might be later but whenever it is there will be no replacing Dana White.

I really dont think he will retire, I can see him running the UFC until he dies, he loves the UFC too much to not have a role in it

I wouldn't be surprised. White has Meniere's disease which causes fluid build up in the inner part of your ear. Stress is a factor which can help determine the progression of it. Fluid build up sucks too. I had it when I was younger in the middle part of my ear which caused me to have random bouts of vertigo, I couldn't hear **** people were saying, and at least one ear infection a month which were only a few of the problems. Menieres is considerably different than what I had though being that it ****s up your sense of balance since your inner ear is what regulates your sense of balance.

From what I know about Menire's disease is that while surgery can cure it you lose hearing in that particular ear a large portion of the time. Usually reducing your stress levels and using a variety forms of management help it (from what I've researched before)

Here is the article where Dana revealed his disease. I assume that is why he missed UFC on Feul 3 (they said he was getting minor surgery or something). Here

Dana White has made me hate him, like him, and just downright appreciate him and what hes done for the sport. Gotta hand it to the guy, but lets not forget about the Lorenzo and Frank!

Wow that would be weird

1984 - David Stern Becomes Commissioner of NBA - 28 Years
2006 - Roger Goodell becomes commissioner of NFL - 6 Years
1992 - Bud Selig Becomes Commissioner of MLB - 20 Years
1993 - Gary Bettman Becomes Commissioner of NHL - 19 Years
2001 - Dana White and the Fertittas buy the UFC - 11 Years

That would be weird to see him not be the media of the UFC after just 18 years. Id like to see him there for at least the 25 year mark.
