Background
Thorne currently trains karate and muay-thai kickboxing under WKA World Kickboxing and Karate Champion Andy Young.Mike is best known for his abilities in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, having won five straight fights by way of rear-naked choke culminating in his second round submission of David McAlduff to capture the Eastern Canadian Extreme Cage Rage Lightweight Championship.
He has spent some time in California training with Rener, Ryron and Ralek Gracie.
According to MM-eh.com, Thorne is now training with Brian Bird at Champions Creed MMA in Calgary, Alberta. Home of UFC fighter Nick "The Promise" Ring.
