Bri Winfrey began her career in MMA in a unique way. At the age of 3, she was enrolled in a tumbling class. Her coach thought her agility exceeded her age and encouraged her parents to move her to gymnastics training. Bri excelled in all areas and began the grueling training to become an elite gymnast. She became a Level 10 gymnast, went to Nationals as a Jr Olympic competitor, and trained as an Elite Gymnast under the guidance of international coaches. She won numerous meets and was extremely successful in her quest but after fourteen years of spending countless hours in the gym, nursing numerous injuries that required surgeries and lengthy recoveries, Bri walked away from her dream to be an Olympian. After a lifetime of discipline and constant training, Bri was lost without a goal to manage. She decided to use her strengths to learn the art of MMA Fighting and has found a place she comfortably calls home. After a couple of false starts with gyms that did not fit her personality, she found Coach Cheeks and realized how much knowledge he had to share. Her first bout in March 2019, was won with a TKO in the 2nd round, with a previously undefeated competitor who was predicted to win. Eventually Bri intends to become a professional MMA fighter - an achievable goal for someone who has always set her sights on the ultimate prize and never settled for anything less.
