He was dealing with some "health issues" during his Bisping Camp and it has just now been confirmed to be colitis. Pretty disappointed, I was looking forward to watching him fight again soon

I couldn't agree more rappinapsoda; I think there needs to be a rule (even a de facto one). 8 months without a title fight and the interim champ should get the belt - obviously not so it the Champ is legit hurt though

@Griffy I agree, but I could live with a year.

@DetroitSuperstar Seriously. McGregor is a great fighter and entertaining to watch. But him clogging up strong divisions, especially lightweight, is getting old. Lightweight is arguably the UFC's deepest division, and I'd love to see it be able to move on, with or without Conor.

I just hope this is not how it was with Cruz. They had an interim belt and it took over 2 years to take away the real belt from him.
