Too much for the Kid, regardless of his amazing abilities. Leg kick to oblique/rib cage and kid gets TKO’d 1st

Jury has surprised me in the past so I have the feeling he can pull this off.

Cerrone is an Italian cowboy, Jury has nothing on that.

That's what I thought when he fought Pettis.

I kind of see Cowboy just standing there in the first round eating shots. Cowboy is very technical with his striking and manages distance well, but that hides the fact that he is just so slow. If he can't keep you back far enough to control what you're doing, he basically always gets hit. It was a really striking difference (lol) in the Pettis fight, but I remember thinking both Barboza and Alvarez were just way quicker. And Jury is the tallest and most reachy fighter he's faced I'm thinking.

Lollipops hahah. Myles either did a bit of ad-lib, or he didn't know the Roddy Piper quote verbatim, or they told him he couldn't say the bubble gum line because of copyright.

Cerrone's previous December/January bouts go as:

L:Varner (Jan)
W:Ratcliff (Dec)
W: Horodecki (Dec)
L: Diaz (Dec)
L: Pettis (Jan)
W: Martins (Jan)

So 1-2 in Jan and 2-1 in Dec. With 50% of his losses coming during winter months specifically I think its something to at least consider.

That being said, Cowboy via sub in the 2nd.

I stand by what I said, but Jury really does seem like a goober, lol. In the countdown show when he's talking to that shrink, ***?

"Oh I get it so the sword is like my best friend"

How much money do you think he pays that guy?

Regarding the shrink, I think if you're gonna be any type of "sports psychologist" (a hypnotist? really?) you have to have played whatever sport you're helping people in. Maybe not MMA, but a martial arts background such as HS wrestling or a TKD black belt if you're gonna advise fighters. Something where you can relate.

I don't really think you're qualified to give advice unless you've been there yourself.

My best friend is actually a sports psychologist. I don't really know the methods the guy on countdown was using but I know tons of top level athletes use sports psychologists, including Cowboy. A lot of what they help people deal with is their ability to sustain confidence and technical skill under pressure. Many athletes have a hard time dealing with the mental aspect of high level competition, and learning to recognize patterns and repetitive thought patterns ( during competition) has helped numerous athletes in the past.

I should rephrase my statements. I think there is a difference between a sports psychologist (which uses actual science) and a hypnotist who is certified by "the national guild of hypnotists" (6:22 in the video).

Sports psychologists do a lot of good. And a lot of them are former athletes and/or coaches which is crucial. But I don't think the guy Jury is seeing is worth his time. I don't think handing him a sword was very helpful. Then again, I don't know the specifics about their relationship. I have a bigger problem with the dude being a hypnotist than anything else.

I think it will be a great fight but Cowboy will win all three rounds and get the decision
