TUF 1 Finale Chris Leben def. Thacker by TKO (strikes) at 1:35 of Round 1

Jason Thacker was a contestant on the inaugural season of the Ultimate Fighter. All of the other fighters that were selected to be on the show had professional MMA experience, Thacker did not. He was selected to be on the show due to his athleticism with gymnastics and his training methods of muay thai in an abandoned warehouse. It was the overall grit given that his facilities didn't even have mats (he trained on bare concrete) that attacted the producers to him. It was also rumored that he took Jon Fitch's spot on the show. He was heavily bullied by Chris Leben with Leben going as far as urinating on his bed. Most of the fighters believed he didn't belong after Thacker had questioned his own validity of being on the show. Not long into the competition, Thacker was eliminated after one the coaches challenges where the weakest fighter would be dismissed from the show. 

Thacker then faced Chris Leben at the live finale and was finished via ground and pound in the first round. This was the sole fight to Thacker's MMA career. 

He was also nicknamed "Strange Brew" by his cast mates since he originated from Canada.
