My Summary

Based mostly on wins and not on performance or should haves (i.e. controversial decisions). Charles Johnson took catchweight bout (Feb 2023, rank 11).

Pantoja made his first title defense against Brandon Royval at UFC 296. He defeated Royval for a second time, this time by unanimous decision. Pantoja will headline UFC 301 against Steve Erceg.

He fought a rematch again, this time with Brandon Moreno at UFN 237. He won the fight time time around, winning a split decision.

He submitted Figueiredo in the first round with a rear-naked choke. He was set to make a quick turnaround against Alex Perez, however, Perez withdrew from the bout. He instead faced Alessandro Costa at UFN 216. He won the fight by knockout in the third round. Albazi headlined UFC on ESPN 45 against Kai Kara-France next. He won the fight by split decision. He was set to return against Brandon Moreno, however, he suffered a neck injury and withdrew.

He lost to Moreno again, this time by TKO due to a body kick. Kara-France returned against Amir Albazi at UFC on ESPN 45. He lost the fight by split decision. He was set to make a relatively quick turnaround against Manel Kape at UFC 293, however, he withdrew due to injury.

Kape was set to face Rogerio Bontorin at UFC 275, however, the bout was cancelled after Bontorin missed weight. He returned at UFN 216 against David Dvorak. He won the fight by unanimous decision. Kape was set to fight Alex Perez next, however, Perez withdrew due to medical issues (March 2023). Kape was set to return against Kai Kara-France at UFC 293, however, Kara-France withdrew. Kape instead faced Felipe dos Santos at the event. He won the fight by unanimous decision. Kape was set to rematch Matheus Nicolau next, however, the bout was cancelled. They are rescheduled for a later event.

He returned against Kai Kara-France at UFN 205. Despite being the heavy favorite, he lost the fight by unanimous decision. He was set to face Alex Perez next, however, he withdrew from the bout. He was set to instead return against Brandon Royval at UFN 212, however, he suffered weight cutting issues and the bout was cancelled resulting in Askarov's release from the UFC. After a year of inactivity he fell four rankings (March 2023, rank 4). Askarov was set to return against Azamat Kerefov at ACA 160, however, the bout was cancelled. Askarov would fall two rankings due to inactivity (July 2023, rank 8). Askarov made his return at ACA 166 against Alan Gomes. He won the fight by unanimous decision.

He won the fight by unanimous decision. He is set to face Jake Hadley next.
