    Pride Grand Prix 2000 Finals
    Pride Grand Prix 2000 Finals
    Monday, May 01, 2000
    Tokyo, Japan
🥇Pride Fighting Championships: Openweight Grand Prix - 2000 Finals:
It is simply the best event in MMA history.

🏆& the best tournament in MMA history.
A championship armed with 16 of the best mixed martial artists in the world at that time, competing for a prize of $200,000; with Vale-Tudo rules, having to win 3 fights in one day and in an open weight class, in the colossal Tokyo Dome stadium in Japan in front of 40,000 people.

    🇺🇸Mark Kerr vs. 🇯🇵Kazuyuki Fujita:
The climatic moment in the career of the fighter whose life inspired the creation of the documentary film "The Smashing Machine: The Life and Times of Extreme Fighter Mark Kerr (2002)".

    🇧🇷Royce Gracie vs 🇯🇵Kazushi Sakuraba:
The longest fight in MMA history with 90 minutes.

    🇺🇸Mark Coleman vs. 🇯🇵Kazuyuki Fujita:
Shortest fight in Pride FC history with 2 seconds.

    🇺🇸Ken Shamrock vs 🇯🇵Alexander Otsuka:
The first and last Superfight in Pride FC history.

    🇺🇦Igor Vovchanchyn vs 🇺🇸Mark Coleman:

    Vale Tudo Japan 1995
    Vale Tudo Japan 1995
    Thursday, April 20, 1995
    Tokyo, Japan
🥈Vale Tudo Fighting Championship II/Vale Tudo Japan Open 1995:
The MMA event that inspired the creation of the documentary film "Choke (1999)".

    🇺🇸The performance of Todd Hays:
A Bobsleigh competitor who succumbs to a shoulder injury and fear of the No Holds Barred rules.

    🇯🇵The performance of Koichiro Kimura:
Someone who falls, gets up and conveys the perception of honor, respect and spirituality that the Japanese have about martial arts.

    🇧🇷The performance of Rickson Gracie:
The strongest member of the Gracie family in the 90s. His 3 fights won by choke were a demonstration of the effectiveness of BJJ over other styles at a primitive level of MMA.

🇯🇵 The performance of Yuki Nakai:
With 70 kg he beat Gerard Gordeau (100 kg); having an injured eye, he beat Craig Pittman (110 kg); and having both eyes injured, he fought against a Rickson Gracie (90 kg) who despite injuries and weight disparity, did not dare to underestimate him.

🥋Yuki lost 75% of his visual ability after the event and kept it a secret so as not to damage the reputation of MMA. He sacrificed his sight for sport. He was a Shooto champion despite his small size, he was a practically blind BJJ champion, he is the main teacher of Shinya Aoki, the true best mixed martial artist in the history of Japan and not Kazushi Sakuraba. Nakai is an underrated hero who deserves nothing but the deepest respect and admiration from anyone who loves MMA.

🇺🇸The performance of Dan "The Beast" Severn:
The first world class wrestler in the history of the UFC whose first 2 fights were won with tremendous ease.

    🇺🇸Steve Jennum vs. 🇺🇸Melton Bowen:
The "new champion" winning one of the biggest comebacks in UFC history against a superior boxer and demonstrating the importance of knowing the basics of the takedown, mount and submission.

The iconic moment of The Giant Killer repeatedly hitting the genitals of the Korean murderer, torturer and ******.

    🇧🇷Royce Gracie vs 🇺🇸Dan Severn:
With a 40 kg difference, one of the biggest surprises in the history of the UFC and one of the fights that best represents technique overcoming force.
