My Summary

Work in progress.

  1. 1

    Conor McGregor vs. Nate Diaz
    McGregor vs. Diaz
    Nate Diaz | Submission | Round 2
    2016 | UFC 196
Without the shadow of a doubt Nate's signature win and one of MMA's most iconic moments. It just doesn't get any bigger than this. Nate just came off an impressive decision win over Michael Johnson after over a year from fighting, proceeded to call-out Conor in a now iconic post-fight moment, which at first, was hard to take seriously as it came after only Nate's second fight and his first win in over 2 years while Conor was on top of the world, breaking records. A match between the two seemed highly unlikely. But when Dos Anjos pulled out from his history-making fight against Conor, Nate answered the call when Aldo and Edgar wouldn't... And the rest is history. On an 11 days notice, Nate shocked the world, an unlikely star emerged and one of MMA's most iconic rivalries was born.

    Donald Cerrone vs. Nate Diaz
    Cerrone vs. Diaz
    Nate Diaz | Decision
    2011 | UFC 141
Nate's biggest win up to this point and one of his most impressive performances. Nate just landed at will in this one and set a CompuStrike record by landing 82% of the strikes he threw. He just moved back down to lightweight and was coming off arguably the biggest win of his career with his first-round armbar win over Takanori Gomi while Cerrone was one of the hottest fighters in the world at the time, riding an impressive 6-fight winning streak and competing in his fifth bout of the year, he came in as a considerable favorite, which made Nate's performance all the more impressive. There was a lot of heat and bad blood in the build-up to this fight, middle fingers were exchanged inside the octagon with Cerrone flipping one at Nate during the face-off but Nate having the final word and flipping a couple in typical badass style as a battered Cerrone got up from the stool for round three. A lot of respect was displayed afterwards between these two bad mofos though, just everything I love about this sport.
  4. 4

    Nate Diaz vs. Anthony Pettis

    Nate Diaz vs. Michael Johnson
    Diaz vs. Johnson
    Nate Diaz | Decision
    2015 | UFC on FOX 17
Mostly remembered for Nate's iconic Conor McGregor call-out, this fight marked the return and the rebirth of Nate Diaz. Even though he just looked as good as ever and put on a show in a remarkable performance after over 1 year away from fighting against a gamed Michael Johnson, who came in as a big -450 favrorite. It was hard to take his call-out seriously... This was only Nate's second fight and his first win in over 2 years while Conor was on top of the world, breaking records, so a match between the two seemed highly unlikely. But who knew this would give birth to one of MMA's greatest rivalries and turn Nate into one of the sports most iconic figures.
  6. 6

    Nate Diaz vs. Jim Miller
    Diaz vs. Miller
    Nate Diaz | Submission | Round 2
    2012 | UFC on FOX 3
A high-profile FOX headliner that earned Nate his first and only UFC title shot. This was a huge fight for him, he looked as good as ever since moving back down to lightweight, came off the two biggest wins of his career after his first-round submission of Takanori Gomi and his impressive FOTN performance against a red hot Donald Cerrone. Jim Miller came in quite hot too, having won 8 of his last 9 and his only loss being to the champion Benson Henderson. Nate put on another impressive performance here, pulling out a slick guillotine choke in the second after knocking Miller down in the first, thus becoming the first man to ever finish Jim Miller, caping off Nate's most impressive 3-fight win streak and earning him a shot at Benson Henderson for the title.
  7. 7

    Nate Diaz vs. Takanori Gomi
    Diaz vs. Gomi
    Nate Diaz | Submission | Round 1
    2011 | UFC 135
Following a failed attempt at welterweight and two losses in a row against much bigger and stronger guys, Nate decided to move back down to lightweight and put on a signature performance against one of his brother's old foe in Takanori Gomi. This win put him right back on track and marked the beginning of one of Nate's greatest runs.
  8. 8

Nate Diaz vs. Gray Maynard III
    Diaz vs. Maynard III
    Nate Diaz | KO/TKO | Round 1
    2013 | The Ultimate Fighter 18 Finale
Coming off the first and only TKO loss of his career, Nate settled the score against an old foe in Gray Maynard. Nate held a submission win over Maynard from way back to TUF 5 in 2007, Maynard got revenge 3 years later, and here over 6 years following their last fight, the two found themselves in a must-win situation. Nate came on top, destroying Maynard in under 3 minutes to get back on the winning-side after failing at capturing UFC gold and suffering the first TKO of his career.
