I thought having a thread deadicated to Beer (and beer related stories) would be a good idea.

enough said.

I LOVE BEER, and that's an understatment. I don't drink as much (or as often) as I used to, I don't drink to get drunk (that's just  a happy coincidence), I never drink (more than a couple of beers) and drive, however I rarely pass an opportunity to have a cold one. I like all kinds of beers, but my favorites are the dark ones, bitter and with a strong taste.

I would like to know about the good beers of your side of the world, which are your favorites and whatever stories you'd like to share.

I won't even try to make a rank because that'd be impossible and probably would lead me to madness, but I'll mention some of the ones I like the most

Victoria (Mexican)
Choppe (Mexican
Bohemia(Mexican)
Negra Modelo (Mexican)
Cucapah Obscura (Mexican micro brewery)
Lowenbrau (German)
Heineken (Netherland)
Steel Reserve 211 (USA)
Bavaria (Netherland)
Foster's (Australia or England; depends how you see it)
Samuel Adams Imperial Stout (USA) I've tried it twice it was great but a bit overwhelming

@legacy  I have had some Ballast Point brews before and have enjoyed them.  Very flavorful.  I'll absolutely be on the look out for this specific beer.

yeah its a good brewery, and if you like the black stuff, this will hit the spot. it´s a big beer close to 10% lots of malt cofee and some chocolate flavors but is well balanced. this beer should last you a while

Ballast point is great. Sculpin and the g****fruit are two of my favs. I didn't care for the pineapple too much tho.

Never had the pleasure of sea monster but they're usually spot on so I'd imagine it's good.

Tonight I'll be drinking Six Points Hi-Res. My boy said he got a keg. It's tricking tasty double imperial ipa

I also have a few cans of  Jai Alai ipa from cigar city brew co  If you like ipa this is phenom

As far as Ballast Point beers go, this is my favorite:

Belgian Pales and Strongs are my go-to. However I think my next homebrew will be a cloning attempt of Yakuza from Allagash.

For Ballast Point, I've only had one of their brews so far, the Watermelon Dorado Double IPA. Like the name would suggest, it's strong at about 10%, but it was pretty good and had more of a watermelon taste than the Hell or High Watermelon.

I had Ballast Point's Calm Before The Storm Cream Ale.  Very delicious and unique.  Has all the flavors you would expect out of a stout or a porter in a Golden Ale.  Very refreshing.

Speaking of beers with a unique taste, Southern Tier's Grand Arbor Saison is incredible too.  It is brewed with Maple Syrup and strikes a nice balance between sweet and citrus notes, as well as some nice biscuity notes.  It is a good fall and winter beer.

@GH, if you like Saisons try Brooklyn brewery's Sorachi Ace and Goose Islands Sofie. They're high grade

@Toll havent had that one yet, I´ll look for it, althoug it looks more like a seasonal brew?

also, how long have you been brewing? I just started a little more than 2 years ago,  I love it although I dont brew as often as I would like. I had big plans for this year but I caught a hellsent pneumonia that put me down for 2 months, so I have grains and hops for 3 5 gal recepies: a Black IPA a Chocolate Stout and an IPA

Stick to locale American (if you're from American, if not I apologize). Great Lakes, Heavy Seas, Victory, Southern Tier, Bell's, Ballast Point, and many others. Let me know if this helps, as I can recommend many more!

And if you have a couple extra bucks for beer, Trillium is outstanding!

I really enjoy craft beers lately and we got many of them in Poland, but when I was visiting family in US I've tried some there, Three Philosophers by Omme Gang Brewery was an amazing beer, also these beers that are signature as Game of Thrones beers are ok from the same company. WitUP by some local Chicago's brewery was also a nice one if any of you like wit beer. Tried some of Flying Dog's beer but I can also buy them here and the last one which is a popular one but not available in my country Blue Moon (I guess everybody knows that one well)

Drinking one of Avery Brewery's Dictator Series beers in The Czar Imperial Stout.  Good beer, but very heavy on alcohol in terms of the ABV and the taste of it.  Would not recommend drinking anything after you have one of these.

Nice. My dad and I hit Lakefront Brewery for a tour and lunch when we did a baseball road trip this summer. Lakefront has some pretty good beers.

I usually stick to local beer and I'm not into craft beers much.

Locals (mexican) I love Tecate, Pacifico and Modelo.

Foreign beer I like Kombacher (probably my favorite) from Germany, Rainier from Seattle and Duvel from Belgium.

Also Budweiser when at a BBQ.

And since this is thread includes "other elixirs" I will include my spirits of choice.
I pretty much drink bourbon mostly:

1. Gentlemen's Jack (my favorite)
2. Makers Mark
3. Jack Daniels
4. Jim Beam
5. Single barrel Jack Daniels
6. Jim Beam black

Yes, Winter Lager is a very good lager. I love Sam Adams seasonal packs. I'm still going through a Fall Variety pack.
