Jose Aldo has completely cleaned out the UFC's Featherweight division with his brand of explosive, highlight reel striking and blazing speed. He could arguably be the UFC's most well rounded fighter, with an amazing blend of elite striking, dominant wrestling defense and a great ground game. It's these attributes that have allowed Jose Aldo to simply plow the competition, including legends like Urijah Faber & Kenny Florian, as well as elite fighters Mark Hominick and Chad Mendes.

Some may attribute this dominance to a weak division but the division only looks weaker because of the dominance at the top, much like the Middleweight division. Even then, it's common opinion that Jose Aldo would dominate the Lightweight division as well, with only Benson Henderson posing problems. He's one of the only fighters who could go up a weight class and beat all of the fighters with ease (excluding the champions of course), along with GSP, Frankie Edgar and Joseph Benavidez.

EDIT: I forgot about mentioning his athleticism, the man has natural power and natural speed that cannot be taught. His technique is near perfection and he's very accurate. The only weakness he's ever shown is his cardio, and that is something that he could change.

Did I mention that he's only 25? Aldo has yet to reach his prime and he's already one of the most dominant fighters in MMA history, and he's only going to get better.

Your thoughts?

All I can say about Aldo is my friends only liked heavyweight fights (they dont really care too much for MMA, watch the events though since they're sick) and then they saw Aldo KO Mendes.

They now like lighter weight classes.

He's a special talent. He's been one of my favorite fighters since he double knee KO'd Cub Swanson in WEC

Barao will not be better then Aldo ever. That would be all. I dont want no arguments about Barao in this thread, I like the idea of a Jose Aldo appreciation thread. But if people decide to argue.

If im not mistaken, Mendes would of had him on the ground if Aldo hadnt of grabed the cage that one time, I still think Aldo would have one. Im just saying.

Mendes was also 0 for 7 on takedowns, I dont think Aldo grabbed the fence all those times

@Mybbygotsauz So what? That's like me saying Henderson wouldn't have won against Bisping if he didn't land that punch.

Basically what I'm saying is ya, Aldo grabbed the fence. So what? He won. Mendes was 0-7 on TDs according to poirier, I doubt Mendes would've won. Stop trying to find reasons as to why Aldo's not good enough, because he is.

Aldo at this rate will overtake Silva as the GOAT. Silva was part of an MMA generation not expected to fight as frequently as the current crop of champions and as such Aldo will likely rack up a lot more defences.

LET THE DOWN THUMBS ROLL.

Aldo is great, i also said that. wow, all i said was i dont think he will be the greatest ever
how is that an insult at all? and i said he grabed the fence because everyone was talking about how aldo TDD is great which it is, im just saying that mendes would of had him on the ground at one point.
and i also said "IF IM NOT MISTAKEN"
@anik, you seem to always miss the IF or opinions. Always

Aldo needs to fight Cruz before he moves up and takes the LW title, that way he has effectively beaten champions in three different weight classes.

@Mybby Mendes went for more then 1 TD. Aldo defended ALL of them. So to your previous fence holding statement.

He may not be the greatest ever, but he's certainly one of the best ever. A couple of losses to a young lion and people forget how dominant he was for years and years.

If you count the WEC in his title reign (which you should) he defended his title of best featherweight in the world 9 times. Only GSP, Anderson and DJ have that many or more. That's some legendary level ****.
