Def gonna keep my eye on him. Added him right outside of my top 10 favorites after seeing him on the weekend, he has that Karate style and in my opinion using it even better than Machida!

I liked his KO but I wont give him hype or anything until he fights somebody who can take him down. I want to see his ground game.

I agree, his standing was impressive, although it made me a little nervous to see his hands so low. I want to see him fight a good boxer and see him fight someone with good takedowns.

I liked what i saw with all the kicks, but for being an undefeated amatuer kickboxing champion i thought we'd see more punches too. Definately a bright future for Wonderboy, i think they'll take their time building him. A fight against a mid tier wrestler would be perfect, perhaps Mike Pierce?

I would like to point out to everyone that his ground-game is supposedly fantastic. He's a blackbelt in JJJ and a brownbelt in BJJ under an 8th degree red-and-black belt. I'd love to see him face a wrestler to see what he can really do in the cage with all of those credentials.

I was kind of wondering why he was keeping his hands so low in that fight, I would think with that many kickboxing fights he would have been used to keeping his hands up?

Like others have said, it's a little too early for me to jump on a hype train.  I'm reserving judgment until I can see more of his overall game.  Even though he has beautiful kicking technique, we didn't get to see much else.  I also noticed that he kept his hands low.  I think it was either because he had no respect for Dan's stand-up or he knew he was outside the reach of Dan's hands.  I don't remember Dan closing the distance and getting in Thompson's face.  Dan was more or less a static target in my opinion.  I need to re-watch the fight.
I would also like to see how he defends a shot, and how he reacts when someone puts pressure on him.  How does he fight off of his back?  That said, can't wait to see him fight again.

Coming from a Karate background myself, I'm excited to see where this kid can go. People are comparing him to Machida, which I understand, but Machida Karate is a defensive style, while Thompson is utilizing a more offensive style similar to mine and GSP's.

As Rogan accurately pointed out on the broadcast as well, Thompson utilizes his front leg far better than Machida. He probably has the best lead leg in the UFC, just because it's so underutilized and it's supposedly his best weapon.
