Ok, i had a thought here. I think everyone can agree (and if not, you are uneducated, no offense) that Shogun has top 3 BJJ in the UFC's LHW division, rivaled maybe by Lil' Nog, I can't think of anyone else right now, and Jones is a white belt in Gaidojustu (right? he said this in his stupid, "I can tap Shogun" interview"). This either means he doesn't train it too much or he isn't very good at it, cuz greg jackson promotes like none other. That said, I think if Shogun is fresh, and that knee surgery doesn't affect him badly like it did against Forrest, I'm thinking shogun by kneebar.

It's possible minotauro, but I'm all about Bones Jones via TKO/manhandling. Love Shogun... yet Jones is a force of nature.

I think Jones could maybe get a tko if he gets a Salaverry or mount, but both are unlikely, Shogun is such a great grappler. The only way I see Jones passing Shogun's guard is if he is gassed from the knee surgery and ring rust, or if he just greco roman tosses shogun and lands in side control. So (unless shogun is messed up from that injury) I really doubt he get's tko'd, his chin is great. He has never been tko'd (aside from the injury to Coleman in Pride) and he hasn't even been wobbled since 2005 when he fought Lil' Nog.

Rua is gonna prove to just be to much for Jon Jones. Bones is a great athlete and will go far in the UFC but he hasnt faced someone like shogun. Rua will push the pace, shine a light on Jones embryonic boxing, and control him the whole way through. Rua by utter destruction....round 4.

If Jones goes out and tries to apply the strategy Greg Jackson came up with for the Evans-Rua fight, Jones will lose. Jones doesn't fight like Evans and doing that would be a huge mistake.

It's a tough call on this fight though. I would not be surprised if Jones won in the 1st round. But I think Rua will be able to do something none of Jones' opponents have done yet (ie, hurt him). As green as Jones is, when he's hurt, I'm curious what his instincts will make him do. I'm leaning toward Rua right now, but if I hear some insider info before then I could change it. Seriously one better than the Rua-Evans fight, this one is too tough to call.

Jones will win by consistently grounding Rua and working the ground and pound. Eventually Rua will leave his neck exposed allowing Jones to get a guillotine from the top.

i physically switched my pick back and forth at least twice, but ended up taking jones. ultimately i think it will be shogun's inability to defend the takedown that will be his undoing. he defends well on the ground and stands up well so the fight should last a while, and he could definitely dominate jones on the feet. this one's a pick 'em.

This fight should be violent...its such a toss up to me who wins, but I'm taking my favorite fighter, because of that fact, but wouldn't be surprised if Jones wins...he's looked unstoppable in the UFC

I know Bones is a specimen and poses a lot of challenges but he has never been in the cage with anything like Shogun. I know anything can happen in MMA but I do not see Bones lasting beyond round 2. I think he gets KOd in rd 1 tbh.
