Predictions: 4 of 5 Winners, 0 Perfect, 230 Points   |   Tied for 139th

Rong vs. Hong
Zhu Rong, TKO, R2
Rong is really experienced at 23 years old and that previous experience in the UFC makes him one of the favorites at the lightweight bracket (if he cleans his weight issues of course). Hong may have a good looking record, but lacks the activity, the tape ans the opositions. The toughest guy he faced the fight ended in a groin strike. In the rematch it happened again. I think Rong finishes him

Kamikubo vs. Jieleyisi
Shuya Kamikubo, SUB, R2
Kamikubo is the absolute favorite at the bantamweight bracket, that ONE experience is unmatched in the whole program. I like Baergeng but this is too much

Xiao vs. Nose
Shohei Nose, DEC
Nose´s loss to Nakamura looks good, no shame on that. Last year he was one of my favorites after Rinya to win the tournament but this year it will be much tougher. The UFC really likes Xiao for some reason but I don´t think he has enough to enter the big leagues. Nose should edge this one

Predictions: 4 of 5 Winners, 1 Perfect, 240 Points   |   Tied for 117th

Rong vs. Hong
Zhu Rong, TKO, R2
I like rong zhu but he’s not a very good fighter. I mean, he’s got some talent but in every fight he has he likes to play with his opponent & just does stupid **** for absolutely no reason. Even in his fight post-ufc he looked absolutely awful before the finish. However, this Korean guy does not look impressive. Those two NC’s to the same guy is pretty concerning. Even if rong looks ****, he’s always got decent wrestling to rely on

Kamikubo vs. Jieleyisi
Shuya Kamikubo, SUB, R3
Like all of these guys coming out of WLF, you have no idea what to expect. However, he’s just not winning plain and simple. Kamikubo is by far the most ufc ready guy in this tournament & I’d give him the 2nd or 3rd highest ceiling out of all the guys in RTU. This dude is a very very high level grappler. I expect him to sweep the tourney and get a ufc contract. He may even end up ranked. Bit of a tall task since bw is a shark tank but he’s a great fighter. The work he’s done in ONE speaks for itself

Maruyama vs. Kim
Sang Uk Kim, DEC
This has got to be the lowest level fight in the whole tourney right? I mean neither of these guys are remotely ufc caliber. The only recognizable names on Kim’s record are the guys he’s lost to. Everyone else is a debutant or a losing record fighter. His most recent win was in Vietnam, so that shouldn’t even count as a win (nonexistent mma scene). Then you’ve got maruyama who doesn’t even have a good record to begin with. He’s beaten nobody, lost to very bad fighters, and is coming off of a loss in his last fight anyways. I wouldn’t be shocked if Kazuma wins; both these guys suck

Xiao vs. Nose
Long Xiao, DEC
It’s hard to really get a read on nose since he had one of the weirdest runs in RTU last year. He won his first fight by a 90 second knee injury, then was the sacrificial lamb for Rinya who he was never going to beat. Xiao was supposed to fight last season but his fights kept getting cancelled. He had a decently competitive fight on dwcs so I’ll go with him just based off of that

Hofmann vs. Yoo
Chris Hofmann, TKO, R1
I’m interested in this Hofmann guy. I am very skeptical of fighters from the Phillippines, but he has a few decent wins so maybe he’s not a total can. He was also on the Philippines national wrestling team (take from that what you will) so at least he has a background there. Chris has also fought at 185 where yoo has fought as low as 155, so there’s a size advantage. Finally, yoo’s losses are to Barrett and fialho which are two bad losses. I don’t trust either but I’ll go with the wrestler with a size advantage

Hofmann vs. Yoo
Chris Hofmann, TKO, R1
Hard to say here. Hofmann has fought really bad guys on the regional scene but Yoo has some really bad losses. Both by KO and decision, this pick is more of a fade than confidence in Hofmann

Illogical New Predictions

Predictions: 3 of 4 Winners, 1 Perfect, 175 Points   |   Tied for 203rd

Xiao vs. Nose
I take Shohei Nose at -155. He has a kooky axe kick. Nose won't impair the opposition.

Rong vs. Hong
I am going with Zhu Rong at -400. He has a yappy right hand. Rong won't block the counteragent.

Maruyama vs. Kim
I can't get enough of Sang Uk Kim at -285. He has a gifted spinning back fist. Kim ought to quench the opposition. Cash me outside!

Kamikubo vs. Jieleyisi
I adopt Shuya Kamikubo at -260. He has a judicious scissors sweep. Kamikubo could vaporize the bandit. Obey my dog!
