Predictions: 8 of 12 Winners, 3 Perfect, 610 Points | Tied for 52nd
Jonathan Piersma, DEC
Gotta assume dwcs is next for piersma with a win here. He’s built up a solid resume
Trecell vs. Philippe
Aaron Trecell, TKO, R2
Why does this dude look like Tyson in his photo
Demko vs. Abasov
Abbas Abasov, SUB, R2
This fight lost a lot of intrigue for me since Demko lost to that can last fight, but at least I finally get to see abasov. He is a judoka who competed at a high level, and is now training at ATT. He had a successful pro debut & a good ammy career. I wonder why he’s fighting in Kentucky and Massachusetts, instead of a place like fury or LFA. Either way, he seems interesting
Abdurakhmonov vs. de Freitas
Bekzod Abdurakhmonov, TKO, R1
This is the fight that’s most interesting to me. Abdurakhmanov is a two time Olympic wrestler, winning bronze in 2020 & being the only person to tech-fall Jordan Burroughs in the 2016 Olympics. He also medaled at the world championships, Asian games, and Asian championships. He has said he is 100% dedicated to mma now and wants the ufc. I do wish he was fighting someone with a pulse & I also wish he hadn’t taken such a long break, but at the same time with 6 years off he needs a tune up. Also, that split decision to a jobber is really concerning. I’ve heard it was a gifted decision but it was also a fight in Kyrgyzstan so it could’ve been a hometown score; hard to tell. Either way, I think the ufc will likely sign him & have him debut on 292 with a win. There’s a good chance he’s not good, but I’m excited about an Olympic wrestler coming back to mma
Costa vs. Espinosa
Randy Costa, TKO, R1
Randy costa is a really good athelte and has some crazy striking, but I don’t think he takes his career very seriously. He’s always traveling and making Tik toks instead of grinding in the gym. He will beat a guy with a losing record & a million ko losses, but I’ll be surprised if he makes it back to the ufc. Don’t get me wrong, I like randy but his ufc tenure didn’t leave me with high hopes for the rest of his career. He’s 28 and still hella green; not like he’s 23 and has tons of time to improve
Almeida vs. Ghareeb
Nathan Ghareeb, DEC
Almeida is not good but he’s unsually hard to finish. I’m not totally sold on ghareeb since I don’t trust the NE scene in general, but he has improved a good amount since going to ATT. I wonder if we see him on dwcs this season with a win
Gardner vs. Zebian
Ali Zebian, TKO, R1
Zebian is pretty bad but he should win this pretty easily
