@danromanick yeah torres is an amazing fighter, but he fought a gameplan in that fight exactly similar to what kkf is gonna try to do. Avoid the ground at all costs and outpoint him on the feet. I get people are saying he isn’t good but not sure where this notion that kkf isn’t a good striker is coming from. I favor him over albazi on the feet

Guram vs Mullarkey

Predictions: 7 of 13 Winners, 4 Perfect, 490 Points   |   Tied for 1138th

Mullarkey is tough as **** and a real tough outing for pretty much anyone. He has surprised me before with his performances in the past.

I think he just does not match up well with Guram though. Guram is a big dude for the weight class and cuts a decent amount of weight, his striking style can tend to be more explosive and involving a lot of footwork than perhaps it should be in terms of cardio management. His takedown defense should hold up though and especially so against Mullarkey who has solid offensive grappling but is not a i love turtles takedown artist or anything of the sort.

There might be a world where Jamie can turn this is into a grind of a fight and gradually wear Guram down. However I think Guram is just too good on the feet and too fast and hard hitting to give Jamie much of a chance to get into the fight. Especially the way Guram mixes up his straight punches with punches that curl around the defense I think he catches Jamie a few times early and gets a finish or coasts to a dominant UD.

Guram via 2nd round TKO most likely.

I'm torn on the main event. If it was 3 rounds I would definitely pick Albazi as the more complete MMA fighter but I think KKF benefits more from 5 rounds because of how calm he is and his experience. I have a feeling Albazi will be more tensed up and less capable of prudently expending his energy across 5 rounds in a fight that I see going to a decision.

I've decided Kai if he shows up like in the Moreno fight Albazi will be headed to hospital by the second round.
Of course it is a different fight and styles, variables make fights but this should be a good fight for Kai.
This is taking the former injury in account if he is still injured who knows.

I argue Kai is a well rounded as you need to be as a striker,  He has elite takedown defence, good cardio and that all you really need if you a striker, the only people who really beat these fighter are better strikers because they don’t have the offensive wresling

You don't have to tell me duck. I made a lot of money on KKF v Askarov.

I believe Albazi is a better striker than Askarov though. He also puts on pressure which is good to do vs KKF. I think if KKF wins outside of landing a big shot it's through cardio. Then again neither guy has gone past the third round in the UFC so it's more a matter of KKF looking more relaxed and having more experience of high level fights that would lead me to believe his cardio might be better, we haven't actually seen either guy in a round 4.

Albazi is a much better striker than he was in 2019. I'm not saying he's better than KKF, but I think he will be able to hold his own.

KKF has really good TDD but it's not like he's beaten this gauntlet of good grapplers. He got held down for an entire round by Askarov, then hurt him badly and narrowly ended up winning a close fight. The only other decent grappler he's fought and had some success against is Moreno, and that was only in the 2nd fight where the result was even worse than the first time they fought.

Pretty much only see this fight going 2 ways.

1) 2nd or 3rd round KO for KKF

2) Late sub or DEC for Albazi

Or, in the form of a question: Does KKF hurt Albazi badly enough to get him out of there before he starts to fade and make himself more susceptible to Albazi's grappling?

think it unfair to say Kai lost a grappler with Moreno, When Moreno didn't try grapping in the first fight, And Moreno didn't have any success grapping in the 2nd fight, Moreno won both with his striking, The only time(in the UFC) Kai had trouble grappling was Bontirin and Askarov taking his back, And Rovyal subbing him with a guilloteen on his own takedown shot while he was rocked

I don't rate Kai striking to highly, But I rate his takedown defence very highly, And usually has good jiu-jitsu when not rocked by Rovyal

Let’s not act like albazi is gonna sub kkf the second he gets his back tho. His grappling is great but he is not some multiple time adcc champ. His bjj is great but the fight isn’t gonna end the second he engages in grappling. Kai has only been subbed once in the ufc & that was after he got rocked multiple times; it’s not like he’s totally clueless on the ground

I don't think Albazi is going to submit KKF right away or at all, but I think he's stronger and has better cardio than Askarov. We also can't ignore that Alessandro Costa is not a scrub of a striker and he beat him up

I think Albazi has to figure out some striking defense and how to move his head or Kai is gonna hit him hard and put him in some serious trouble.

Zhalgas is the only decent competition Albazi has faced in the UFC and Zhalgas was landing some clean shots. But Zhalgas probably has less power than most women in the 115 lb division so Albazi could keep pressuring him.

Thank you. I've said it like 4 times in this thread already but Albazi's last fight was impressive as ****. That performance is getting slept on because Costa was a late replacement and debuting fighter.

And like you said, it wasn't like Albazi landed a lucky shot. He beat him up bad for 2.5 rounds and that uppercut he finally got him with in the 3rd was nasty.

Friendly reminder Guram got robbed here

Predictions: 7 of 13 Winners, 3 Perfect, 465 Points   |   Tied for 1420th

Douglas Crosby is the only judge who scored this fight correctly.
1st and 3rd should have been for Guram. That was not an illegal knee with ~20 seconds left. Guram might have been able to get a finish in such an advantageous position and if nothing else it ruined the optics of the moment for him for at least 2 judges.

@foppa420 yes sir, I scored that fight for guram, but it was a very close fight so I can’t call it a robbery sir. Guram reminds everyone who his is next weekend, and that’s coming from someone who is Australian, sir.
