also, just a possible correction, i believe that Shoeface will be fighting in the second regular season event in a couple months, he's just missing this one.

That's very interesting about Cory. Considering how much he was bad mouthing them last year it's a surprise he's willing to fight for them again. Probably means he had no offers elsewhere... Question is, is he just an alternate for the first fight and gets replaced by Shoeface for the second round, or is he in the full tournament, replacing someone like Omari who looks to be out entirely.

And yes I know Shoeface is supposed to only miss the first round, but will be tough to make the playoffs only having one of the two fights. Will most likely need a first round finish and hope other results go his way to sneak into the top 4. Considering he is coming back from knee surgery and taking part in the big brother thing, his prep probably won't have been the best so will he be in the right condition to do that? Maybe PFL will give him an easy fight to try and get him through...

Prediction Comments

Predictions: 6 of 11 Winners, 3 Perfect, 415 Points   |   Tied for 460th

Loughnane vs. Moraes
Brendan Loughnane, TKO, R1
Shame on pfl. Moraes still has skills, but he doesn’t have the gas or chin anymore. His last fight was pathetic. He was winning and then his chin gave up on him. Brendan is in his prime and is very very good. This won’t be close

Wilkinson vs. Santos
Rob Wilkinson, TKO, R3
Santos is an interesting pickup for pfl. He is definitely washed but does have some gas left in the tank. He isn’t nearly as explosive as he used to be, and his movement is almost totally gone, but he still has vet prowess. I still honestly have a lot of questions about Wilkinson. He’s grown into his frame for the weight class and clearly is improving a lot. His last fight against Omari was very impressive as he just didn’t take his foot off the gas and killed him for 10 minutes straight. I think if Wilkinson comes out like that, he will make santos very uncomfortable and cause his to gas and quit like hill did. On the other hand I also worry santos makes this another classic boring point fight

Khaybulaev vs. Kudo
Movlid Khaybulaev, DEC
Ahhh so kudo is the sacrificial lamb for pfl this season

Wade vs. Jenkins II
Chris Wade, DEC
Tough fight for bubba to come back to. I doubt he’s made much improvements since last season and I don’t see him being able to outpoint Wade again (not like he could the first time)

Akhmedov vs. Fleury
Omari Akhmedov, SUB, R2
Now this one I really have no idea who wins. Akhmedov is talented but you really just can’t rely on him anymore. His gas tank has always been bad and now he’s massively undersized against everyone he fights all while still having no gas tank. I haven’t watched much tape of fleury so idk what to expect. Hard to be confident of Akhmedov because of his obvious flaws and then fact he’s getting worse with every fight, but he should be better than this guy. Fluery isn’t a finisher so that’s beneficial for Omari

Hamlet vs. Fakhreddine
Mohammad Fakhreddine, TKO, R1
Hamlet has skills but his biggest flaw is his gas tank. Once the fight hits the third round, he is ******. Even in fights he’s winning he’s deathgassing in the third round. Fahkreddine is really not that good and also old. I don’t think he can defend the takedowns of hamlet for three rounds. If his cardio stands up he could easily finish hamlet In the third. His striking is pretty good and he loves a brawl. If he makes this ugly he could break hamlet

Silveira vs. Kei
Josh Silveira, SUB, R1
This is a set up for silviera. His last performance was a dud, but I think that was too much too soon. This kei guy was brought in to lose and now he’s cutting to 205 which will probably impact his performance

Flores vs. Torres
Daniel Torres, DEC
This is a bit of a tough one. Flores has a good record but honestly watching his fights he’s not super impressive. He’s really chinny and leaves himself to be hit a lot. Torres is a very good pickup for pfl but I have my doubts about him. The biggest issue he has is weight. He used to be a 155er and had multiple weight misses at that class. If he makes weight I think he should outpoint Flores

@Ayyy Kudo is pretty overmatched against movlid, but I think he has enough to make it to the playoffs again. He gave Brendan his toughest fight of last year and beat the **** out of Alejandro Flores

That’s very true. However I think the loughnane fight was more brendan not showing up and the Flores fight was definitely impressive, but Flores is a little chinny. Kudo is definitely solid but I feel like they’re just gonna use him for cannon fodder

LHW Matchups

Predictions: 10 of 11 Winners, 5 Perfect, 640 Points   |   7th Place

So I did some digging around on insta and found a few fights in the light heavy scene that haven't been announced yet, but the fighters are posting about them using official PFL imaging so I find it weird that the PFL hasn't made the announcements.

Anyway like I said earlier Omari is out, so Jotko is fighting Fleury now. Delan Monte is back in fighting some guy called Flores (unsure of first name so no clue who it is). And as someone else in here mentioned Cory Hendricks is also fighting on this card against someone called Suleiman (again not sure first name, but PFL follows Tarek Suleiman on insta so I'm guessing him). But that fight is just a showcase bout so I'm sure Cory will continue to complain about not being part of the actual tournament.

So for the light heavy's the 5 tournament fights are:

Wilkinson vs Santos
Jotko vs Fleury
Hamlet vs Fakhreddine
Silveira vs Kei
Monte vs Flores

then a showcase of Hendricks vs Suleiman.

Should be interesting :)

I started watching the PFC last year and I find it interesting every event.  Sure, it has some UFC retreads but it also has a unique scale for fighters to advance.

Pathetic matchmaking

Wilkinson vs. Santos
Rob Wilkinson, DEC
Best matchup on entire card amd probably entire tournament tbh, I am going with Rob because he's had a really good run lately, and is definitely more confident than gun shy Thiago, plus juice has really enhaced his fighting abilities

Khaybulaev vs. Kudo
Movlid Khaybulaev, DEC
Movid is so much better but hes a decisionator, dude had one Highlight Flying Knee ko and has just abandoned any sort of finishing urgency since then

Wade vs. Jenkins II
Chris Wade, SUB, R2
Dont like the name "Bubba Jenkings"

Hamlet vs. Fakhreddine
Marthin Hamlet, TKO, R2
Fakhreddine has heart and is a dawg but such an inferior skill set plus he's undersized

Silveira vs. Kei
Sam Kei, TKO, R1
Islanders can crack
