I dont blame anyone for taking Cutelaba but I will say you guys are brave. If the average competitor has a fight IQ of 100, Cutelabas fight IQ is about 7.

Predictions: 6 of 14 Winners, 2 Perfect, 350 Points   |   Tied for 3128th

Holloway vs. Allen
Max Holloway, DEC
i don't think arnold will be able to mix it up enough to keep max from getting into a flow state.

Barboza vs. Quarantillo
Billy Quarantillo, SUB, R2
on paper, billy has the grappling tools to use the normal barboza blueprint. gonna be a matter of how early he chooses to push for it.

Jacoby vs. Murzakanov
Dustin Jacoby, DEC
azamat will have his moments, just not sure his cardio will last long enough to fight at jacoby's range.

Cutelaba vs. Boser
Ion Cutelaba, DEC
ion is gonna come out strong and push for td's until he gasses, really just a question of how long his time on top lasts. wouldn't mind being wrong here but i'll say tanner has trouble consistently getting back to his feet.

Munhoz vs. Gutierrez
Chris Gutierrez, TKO, R2
calf kicks lead to chris being able to cut angles for punches.

Guida vs. García
Rafa García, DEC
not sure how confident i am that clay will be able to apply his grinding style against a boulder like rafa.

Brown vs. Algeo
Bill Algeo, DEC
unsure brown will have the wrestling pressure to keep bill down, not sure who the better striker is though so minimal confidence here.

Royval vs. Nicolau
Matheus Nicolau, TKO, R2
feeling like nicolau will be too sharp and royval will be forced to seek a dogfight or pull guard. thinking nicolau's top game will be clean enough to avoid the traps in royval's guard.

Herman vs. Cummings
Zak Cummings, DEC
cummings' losses have always been to relevant fighters, i'm not sure 42 year old ed herman will be able to drag him into a dog fight or consistently find td's and end up on top.

Rodriguez vs. Robertson
Piera Rodriguez, DEC
very possible that gillian finds the back and rides out rounds or finishes a choke, but i'll take my chance here and say piera can get her own td's and not get overwhelmed by gillian's guard.

Vannata vs. Zellhuber
Lando Vannata, DEC
never know how to predict lando's fights, but i'll say lando's chin holds strong and he can win rounds at range.

Brasil vs. Gomes
Bruna Brasil, DEC
denise has seen the higher profile competition, but i think bruna will be able to push for td's like loma did.

Bolaños vs. Phillips
Gaston Bolaños, TKO, R2
really wanted to play doubter here because gaston's opponents haven't been stellar, but based on his cancelled bookings after losing to shore i feel like they're trying to use phillips as fodder and i'm not ready to use this pick saying otherwise.

Edwards vs. Pudilová
Lucie Pudilová, DEC
*fingers crossed* hoping that lucie's ufc return is in-line with what we'll see here because she can win this if she maintains grappling pressure, my concern is just if she gets stuck standing and edwards can chip away with volume.

Predictions: 9 of 14 Winners, 2 Perfect, 530 Points   |   Tied for 634th

Holloway vs. Allen
Max Holloway, TKO, R5
Striking: Max Holloway is known for his striking skills, with a diverse arsenal of punches, kicks, and elbows. He is known for his high-volume striking, using his length and reach to keep opponents at bay and land significant strikes from both the outside and the clinch. Holloway is also known for his exceptional striking defense, using head movement and footwork to evade incoming strikes. Arnold Allen, on the other hand, is also a skilled striker, but he tends to rely more on his boxing and counter-striking. He has precise striking, with good accuracy and power in his punches. Allen is also known for his striking defense, using good head movement and footwork to avoid getting hit. Grappling: While both fighters are primarily known for their striking, Arnold Allen has a grappling advantage over Max Holloway. Allen has a solid grappling background with a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and he has shown good takedown defense and grappling skills in his fights, including submission wins. Max Holloway has shown competent grappling skills, but he typically prefers to keep the fight standing and utilize his striking. However, he has a good ability to scramble and defend against takedowns when needed. Cardio and Pace: Both fighters are known for their high pace and cardio. Max Holloway is known for his relentless pressure and high-volume output, maintaining a high pace throughout the fight. He has shown exceptional cardio in his fights, often pushing the pace and overwhelming his opponents with his striking volume. Arnold Allen has also demonstrated good cardio in his fights, showing the ability to maintain a high pace and keep up the pressure. He has shown good endurance and has gone the distance in several fights, displaying his cardiovascular conditioning. Experience: Max Holloway has a significant experience advantage over Arnold Allen. Holloway has been fighting in the UFC for several years and has faced top-level competition, including multiple championship fights. He has a wealth of experience and has developed a well-rounded skill set. Arnold Allen, while an accomplished fighter, has not faced the same level of competition as Holloway and has fewer fights in the UFC. However, he has shown continuous improvement and has been steadily climbing the featherweight ranks. Striking Accuracy and Volume: Both Holloway and Allen are known for their striking skills, and their ability to land accurate strikes with volume could play a crucial role in the fight. If one fighter is able to consistently land clean and significant strikes while avoiding damage, it could sway the judges' scorecards in their favor. Grappling and Takedown Defense: Arnold Allen's grappling skills and takedown defense could be a factor in the fight. If Allen is successful in taking Holloway down and controlling him on the ground, he could potentially gain an advantage and work for submissions or ground-and-pound. On the other hand, if Holloway can defend takedowns and keep the fight standing, he could utilize his striking skills to control the striking exchanges. Cardio and Pace: Both fighters are known for their high pace and cardio. If one fighter is able to maintain a higher pace throughout the fight without slowing down, it could put pressure on their opponent and potentially lead to fatigue, affecting their performance and decision-making. Experience: Max Holloway's experience advantage could also play a role in the fight. His wealth of experience in the UFC, including championship fights, could give him an edge in terms of fight IQ, cage awareness, and ability to adjust during the fight. Game Plan and Strategy: The game plan and strategy implemented by each fighter's camp could heavily impact the fight. This includes factors such as striking versus grappling, clinch work, distance management, and defensive strategies. The fighter who is able to effectively implement their game plan and execute their strategy could gain an advantage. Octagon Control and Ringcraft: The ability to control the octagon and dictate the pace and location of the fight could also be a factor. The fighter who can effectively cut off angles, control the center of the octagon, and use ringcraft to their advantage could potentially gain an edge in terms of controlling the fight and dictating the action.

Barboza vs. Quarantillo
Edson Barboza, TKO, R2
Striking: Edson Barboza is known for his striking skills, particularly his Muay Thai. He has crisp and powerful striking techniques, including punches, kicks, and knees. Barboza's leg kicks are especially notorious, known for their speed and accuracy. He often uses his striking to create distance and control the range. Grappling: While Barboza's striking is his main strength, he also has solid grappling skills. He has shown decent takedown defense and has some submission grappling ability, although his grappling is not as prominent as his striking. Striking: Billy Quarantillo is also a skilled striker, but he tends to have a more aggressive, high-pressure style compared to Barboza. He likes to move forward, pressuring his opponents with a high volume of strikes. Quarantillo throws a variety of punches, elbows, and knees, and he also has a good clinch game. Grappling: Quarantillo is known for his grappling and wrestling skills. He has a strong grappling base, with good takedowns and ground control. He has shown submission skills and can be dangerous on the ground with his grappling. Potential Fight Scenario: Stand-up Striking: Barboza may look to utilize his striking techniques, such as his leg kicks and striking accuracy, to control the distance and land powerful shots while avoiding Quarantillo's pressure. Clinch: Quarantillo may try to close the distance and engage in clinch exchanges, where he can utilize his grappling and dirty boxing to wear down Barboza and potentially take him to the ground. Ground Game: Quarantillo may look to take Barboza down and utilize his grappling skills to control him on the ground, potentially looking for submission opportunities or ground-and-pound. Factors that could influence the fight: Octagon control: Barboza's striking and footwork may allow him to control the distance and avoid being pressured by Quarantillo, which could give him an advantage in the stand-up exchanges. Grappling exchanges: If Quarantillo can successfully close the distance and take Barboza to the ground, he could potentially nullify Barboza's striking and gain an advantage with his grappling skills. Conditioning: Both fighters have shown good cardio in their fights, but if one of them starts to fatigue, it could impact their performance and open up opportunities for their opponent.

Jacoby vs. Murzakanov
Dustin Jacoby, DEC
striking: Jacoby may look to utilize his kickboxing skills, using his striking combinations, high volume of strikes, and footwork to keep Murzakanov at bay. He may aim to maintain distance and avoid clinches or takedowns to keep the fight standing where he has an advantage. Wrestling: Murzakanov, on the other hand, may look to close the distance and take the fight to the ground where he can use his grappling and wrestling skills. He may attempt takedowns, clinch, and try to control Jacoby on the ground, potentially looking for submissions or ground-and-pound to wear down his opponent. Striking Defense: Jacoby will need to be mindful of Murzakanov's grappling skills and work on his takedown defense to avoid getting taken down and controlled on the ground. He may need to be cautious in the clinch and avoid getting caught in Murzakanov's takedown attempts. Conditioning: Both fighters' conditioning will play a significant role in the fight, as MMA fights can be physically demanding. Maintaining cardio and endurance will be crucial for both fighters to keep up the pace throughout the fight and capitalize on opportunities.

Cutelaba vs. Boser
Ion Cutelaba, DEC
Striking: Cutelaba may look to press forward aggressively and use his striking combinations to try to overwhelm Boser. He may attempt to close the distance quickly and unleash powerful punches and kicks to try to catch Boser off guard and secure a knockout. Boser, on the other hand, may focus on maintaining distance and utilizing his striking accuracy and power to counter Cutelaba's attacks. He may look for opportunities to land clean counters and keep Cutelaba at bay with his striking. Grappling: Cutelaba may also look to utilize his grappling and wrestling skills to take Boser down and seek submissions. He may try to close the distance, clinch with Boser against the cage, or look for takedown opportunities to bring the fight to the ground. Boser, on the other hand, will likely aim to defend takedowns and keep the fight standing where he can use his striking advantage. Takedown Defense: Boser's takedown defense will be a key factor in the fight. If he can successfully stuff Cutelaba's takedown attempts and keep the fight standing, he may have an advantage in striking from range. However, if Cutelaba can secure takedowns and control Boser on the ground, it could shift the momentum of the fight in his favor. Endurance: Both fighters have shown good durability and endurance in their previous fights, which could come into play in this matchup. If the fight goes into the later rounds, their conditioning and ability to maintain a high pace could affect the outcome.

Munhoz vs. Gutierrez
Chris Gutierrez, DEC
Striking: Both Pedro Munhoz and Chris Gutierrez are skilled strikers, but they have different styles. Munhoz has a background in Muay Thai and boxing, known for his aggressive forward pressure, heavy hands, and striking power. He often looks to close the distance and engage in close-range exchanges, where he can throw punches, knees, and elbows with intent to finish the fight. Gutierrez, on the other hand, has a background in kickboxing and Muay Thai, known for his speed, precision, and technique in striking. He often utilizes a variety of strikes including punches, kicks, knees, and elbows, and is known for his ability to maintain distance and strike from different angles. Grappling: Pedro Munhoz is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt and has solid grappling skills. He is comfortable on the ground and has a strong submission game, with the ability to work for submissions from various positions. Munhoz has shown good takedown defense as well, which allows him to avoid being taken down and maintain the fight in the stand-up. Chris Gutierrez's grappling skills are not as well-known as his striking, but he has shown decent defensive grappling in his fights. He has demonstrated the ability to stuff takedowns and maintain the fight on the feet where he can utilize his striking skills. Takedowns and Takedown Defense: Pedro Munhoz has shown good offensive takedowns in his fights, often utilizing trips, sweeps, and grappling transitions to bring his opponents to the ground. He has a solid wrestling base and is capable of securing takedowns in clinch or open space. Chris Gutierrez has demonstrated good takedown defense in his fights, often using his striking skills and footwork to avoid being taken down. He has shown good balance and defensive grappling, which allows him to stay on his feet and keep the fight in his preferred striking range. Cardio: Both Pedro Munhoz and Chris Gutierrez are known for their conditioning and have shown good cardio in their fights. They have the ability to maintain a high pace and keep pushing the action throughout the contest.

Guida vs. García
Rafa García, SUB, R2
Striking: Rafa García has a background in Muay Thai and is known for his striking accuracy, striking combinations, and precision. He may have the advantage in striking technique and striking diversity, being able to utilize punches, kicks, elbows, and knees effectively. Clay Guida, on the other hand, is known for his high-energy striking style, but may not be as technically polished as García. Guida relies more on his relentless pace and durability, throwing wild and looping strikes. Grappling: Clay Guida is a seasoned wrestler and has a strong grappling background. He is known for his ability to close the distance, clinch, and take opponents down to the mat. Guida also has good ground-and-pound and submission skills. Rafa García also has grappling skills, but may not be as experienced as Guida in wrestling. However, García may have a more diverse grappling arsenal, including submissions and transitions, which could be an advantage. Takedown Defense: Rafa García's takedown defense may be a key factor in this matchup. If he can effectively defend Guida's takedown attempts, he may be able to keep the fight standing and utilize his striking skills. Guida's relentless pace and wrestling experience may make it challenging for García to defend all of the takedowns, but if García can showcase good takedown defense, it could be a significant advantage for him. Cardio: Clay Guida is known for his high-level cardio and endurance. He pushes a relentless pace and can maintain a high level of activity throughout the fight. Rafa García may also have good cardio, but may need to ensure he can match Guida's pace, especially if the fight becomes a high-paced grappling battle.

Always roll with Max, but he's getting up there in career trajectory. Allen is a killer. The best is blessed, baby! Either way it goes, should be a crack.

@foppa I disagree. I think 205 is the right class for boser, but purely because he was too small at 265. At 205, what does he have that makes him special? The only special quality he had at 265 was his speed; going down a weight class he loses that speed advantage since everyone isn’t fatties (for the most part) at 205. Take away his speed and he’s nothing special at all, just a karate striker. Ion is so bad, but one thing he doesn’t consistently well is wrestle. He can wrestle his ass off. Boser has never had good tdd & going down a weight class I don’t really expect that to change. He also has no clue how to get up off his back. If ion gets him down, boser is gonna stay there. Another thing to factor in, ion is finally fighting someone his own size & someone who doesn’t have bjj. His last three opponents have been the three biggest guys in the division. I think ion gets this done & with relative ease
