I honestly think Lingo is actually decent and Fortis MMA is a decent gym. I do think Geoff Neal really helped prove that their best fighters are good enough to compete in the top 10 of the respected division. Nate Landwehr would be in the top 10 if he didn't fight so recklessly. He actually has a lot of talent, and I've seen him win a couple rounds based on fight IQ, so it is definitely there. He just has that dog in him that likes to stand in the pocket and swing tho. Julian Erosa does the same ****

CLD by KO is hardly some insane prediction. It was the most likely way the fight would end.

Salvador's last fight before DWCS was against a 0-0 guy. Wild. It was against a vampire though so that's impressive.

Very interesting parallels in the Holm/Santos fight. Same record overall and same record in their last 7 (4-3). However, Yana has been finished in all 3 of her losses where as Holm was only finished by Nunes. Both fighters have wins over each others respective previous opponents: Holy beat Aldana, and Yana beat Vieira. Yes, Holm fought Vieira over 5 rounds and arguably won, but even if that was a 3 round fight (for a more equal comparison) the result wouldn't have been different according to the scorecards (still a split for Vieira).

I almost never say anyone is a "lock". I almost always have a "probably" in front of the word lock, because fights are fights and anything can happen. It is damn near impossible for me to be that certain about a WMMA fight.

But man, I feel unusually confident about calling Holly Holm a lock this week. Last fight was a controversial loss, new 6 fight deal, stepping out of ice baths looking as shredded and ready to fight as ever. Meanwhile, Santos just had a baby and is trying to come back from being finished in the first round.

Holm wins and gets Pena; Santos probably retires.

Great analogy. I did not know about the baby Santos had that’s a big factor to be out of training being a mother is a lot to come back from.

Holms fighting Pena next even though Holms is older than she was when she was champ seems like a nice fun matchup for the woman’s division which the division really lack.

It would make the most sense if you're trying to avoid booking rematches, which is hard cause a lot of these females have fought one another already. I don't think anybody really wants to watch Holm fight Pennington again, but it's Penningtons only loss in the last 3 years. If you're going to book a rematch, that should probably be it.

Irene Aldana needs to fight Pena. She's fought everybody else and has just a good an argument as anyone for a title shot.
