Incredibly, people are betting down Perez. Just goes to show you can never consistently predict the market.

Thoughts on over 2.5?

The odds for over 2.5 rounds for Giles vs Parsons is sitting at around +135. Am I crazy for thinking that’s free money? I might throw it onto my main parlay.

Most of Parsons fights have finished in the 1st round, mostly against bums though.

Prediction Comments

Predictions: 6 of 10 Winners, 4 Perfect, 425 Points   |   Tied for 1483rd

Holm vs. Santos
Holly Holm, DEC
Holm is a point fighter. It's dominant, but she's not putting anyone competent away before the end of the fight.

Landwehr vs. Lingo
Nate Landwehr, DEC
I want Lingo to lose only because of that ridiculous shout he does every time he throws a punch

Lee vs. Barber
Maycee Barber, DEC
This one is honestly a toss up as far as I'm concerned

Perez vs. Kape
Manel Kape, TKO, R2
Kape has simply looked too dominant to lose in his past few fights. Alex is coming off of two losses, and if he hasn't done enough to improve his ground game he's going to get steamrolled again.

Njokuani vs. Duraev
Chidi Njokuani, TKO, R2
Duraev is strong but doesn't have the best head movement, if he stays there for Chidi's hellbows then I see an early night for Duravev.

Leaning Peterson, Chidi and Lutz ITD. Ogden, Lingo and Lee are live dogs. I actually think Giles is great value against Parsons. I think Parsons has a shot but Giles has big advantage in experience, QOC and overall cage time.

I agree on lutz ITD. Pineda is not the same guy he used to be. He’s off steroids now, pushing 38, on a 2 year layoff, and in his last two fights he has shown 3 minutes of cardio and also can’t take a punch. He looked really good against cub Swanson for a few minutes, then he got hit once and his whole gameplan just went out the window. And the same thing was happening in the fili fight before the eye poke. Even in the Herbert burns fight I wasn’t impressed as much as I remembered watching it live. He took a pretty good amount of damage and was slowing down a good amount in the second round, but Herbert burns just death gassed like he always does and Pineda was less tired. Personally, I’ve never been very high on tucker lutz, but I will say, his striking is decently clean and he attacks all parts of the body pretty well. He’s been out forever so I’m also expecting improvements from him. Pineda barely uses his grappling anymore so in a all standup fight lutz should shine

TORRES vs OGDEN

Predictions: 5 of 10 Winners, 4 Perfect, 375 Points   |   Tied for 2484th

This fight is going to be good.  Ogden is a live dog with SERIOUS ground game.
Most of Torres' fights were in Mexico, but Entram Gym is a quality gym (Brandon Moreno's first gym).  I would say Ogden has the more experience and this fight is definitely hitting the mat.  Torres' losses were in the jiu jitsu exchanges where he lost via kneebar and heel hook.  Ogden's losses have come via submission as well, so his neck is also in play.
Line has been moving Ogden's way 40 pts.  Torres' KO over Camacho was meh, as Camacho has been washed out since 2017 (Geoff Neal ****** Camacho up with that head kick).
IDK if Ogden can secure the submission, but his finish rate is 68.75%.  Ogden is a jiu jitsu black belt.  Torres a purple belt.  If Torres cant get it done on the feet, he's going to be fighting off submission attempts all night.

Ogden by decision, possibly Submission.

Lee vs. Barber
Maycee Barber, DEC
I despise myself for betting womens MMA; but Barber has been more dominant against much higher levels of competition. KGB fight game just seems like it's stopped evolving, being taken the distance and losing a unanimous decision to Viviane Araujo in her last fight at UFC Vegas 54. Holes in KGB game are being exposed at the higher lever and she is becoming a more one dimensional fighter.

The fact that Trevin Giles has wins over Ryan Spann and Roman Dolidze is just wild. I also for some reason thought he was like 33-34 but he's only 30.

His losses are all very respectable too IMO and I think people just have a bad taste in their mouth because his last fight was so bad. He did what he needed to win against an opponent who seemed absolutely terrified of getting finished or fighting in general.

I don't think Parsons is bad but I'm genuinely asking how he wins this fight? If he couldn't submit a lightweight on short notice how's he going to submit Giles? I don't think he's well rounded enough yet to beat a more seasoned fighter like Giles by decision.

What am I missing here? Why is this line so close?

I think Giles finishes Parsons in the 1st round. Giles just had a rough streak until his last fight, but he is very good. I think that last losing streak was more of a learning experience than him declining. Michael Morales is also just that good, and I don't think he's going to lose until he reaches to the top 10 if he loses before a title shot. In a division that growing old, I think Giles can slip his name into the top 15 in the next year.

Regarding Lutz, he is very technically sound, and Pineda is old and slow. He also isn't on the juice anymore, so it is probably going to ugly. I also think Lutz is one of those dudes that is under the radar and has the potential to be ranked. He's only 28 years old and still has a lot of time to figure it out. His last loss was against Sabatini, who would probably beat Damon Jackson in a rematch, and Lutz was still relatively competitive with him, only losing by a decision in his 2nd UFC fight. I think this performance will be a statement by Lutz that he's talented enough to compete in the UFC

Only way i see "chito" winning is by a finish. If it goes to decision, Cory will be up on points because he's the aggressor; "chito" is more of a defensive/counter striker that loves to initiate the kicks having a solid pace. If Cory's fatigue is not up to par, a submission or tko is pending.
