Lisac  I agree. Though some fighters don't mind it at all. I do believe that they should give the fighters some space and allow them to recover and hydrate. I enjoy the weigh-in shows the UFC does, but they sometimes take it too far with those interviews. Some of these fighters are being interviewed for more than 10 minutes or are being asked to do a quiz. Just imagine doing a quiz after a rough weight cut

gliese58iit's rumored that Zubaira is still on good terms with Khabib so also with Islam and the rest. So I doubt that the he even will loose such a low ranked competition on a decision

I'm really confident in Volk

Predictions: 6 of 13 Winners, 1 Perfect, 365 Points   |   Tied for 3754th

The reason why I say this is I don't see Islam having any success in getting Volk down and after hearing Islam state at the press conference that he is going to knock Volk out I think he knows how great Volk's wrestling is. This makes me think the fight will stay standing and Volk who clearly has the better striking will get the DEC victory.

Prediction Comments

Predictions: 8 of 13 Winners, 2 Perfect, 450 Points   |   Tied for 2121st

Rodriguez vs. Emmett
Yair Rodriguez, DEC
Emmett didn't beat Kattar and arguably also lost to Ige. Emmett is a very powerful puncher, but Yair has a good chin. Yair's striking is also much more advanced, and he throws more out there than Emmett. Emmett being almost 38 and making the cut to FW will certainly take a toll on him. Ultimately, Emmett is predictable. Yair will throw elbows, kicks from weird angles, etc, to throw Emmett off.

Brown vs. Maddalena
Jack Della Maddalena, TKO, R2
Della is that guy. His boxing is clean as hell and he goes to the body and head. Randy Brown is good, but I've seen him get rocked before by guys not on the boxing level of Della. Della will close the distance and unload combos with power, similar to how Topuria did with Jai Herbert.

Tafa vs. Porter
Parker Porter, DEC
Laugh at Porter all you want, but Tafa isn't very good. Porter can take a decision if the fight goes all 3. Tafa is going to swing sloppy but powerful hooks at Porter. Porter has bettter UFC experience too.

Crute vs. Menifield
Jimmy Crute, TKO, R1
Crute is still a damn good fighter. He loses to Anthony Smith in the same way that O Malley lost to Chito and got knocked out by the current champ. Menifield Round One is the prop I'd play if I were to pick him, but Crute is so much younger and improving. We know what Alonzo is. He's going to throw heavy and look for a KO, but he doesn't have the power of Hill or the technical ability.

Pedro vs. Bukauskas
Modestas Bukauskas, DEC
This is my big dog of the card. Almost nobody is on Modestas and I understand why, but at least allow me to share my reasoning. Modestas isn't very high volume which could hurt him a little at least in the eyes of the judges if this fight goes all three, but Pedro is a first round finisher for the most part. He makes mistakes as the fight goes on, and Modestas actually gets better as the fight wears on. Pedro could just run right through Modestas and make it look easy, but I really want Pedro to be tested in the later rounds.

Culibao vs. Baghdasaryan
Melsik Baghdasaryan, DEC
Probably the hardest fight to pick on the card. Culibao is a good striker that switches stances a lot and has some decent pop in his strikes, but doesn't have the fight finishing ability that Melsik has. Melsik is a former K1 kickboxer and has nasty kicks, especially headkicks. Maybe I'm the only one, but Melsik reminds me of Roman Kopylov. If Melsik is able to defend any wrestling from Culibao, I think he wins.

Rodrigues vs. Ross
Kleydson Rodrigues, DEC
Kleydson is the better fighter in all areas. He clearly is the better striker, and mixes in punches and kicks very well. He can wrestle if needed as well. Shannon Ross should not be in the UFC. I think this is a good fight to bounce back for Rodrigues.

Mullarkey vs. Prado
Jamie Mullarkey, DEC
I see quite a few Prado round one predictions. While this is certainly possible due to Mullarkey being willing to trade with opponents at times, he's a pretty good striker. Getting knocked out by Jalin Turner is not at all a bad look. His last fight, he arguably lost, but that was against an underrated UFC veteran in Michael Johnson. This is certainly not a spot to bet Mullarkey at those odds, but I see him being able to beat Prado over 3 rounds.

Jenkins vs. Shainis
Jack Jenkins, TKO, R2
Jenkins is 100% the better and more technical fighter without question. I think Shanis will use his typical strategy of just blitzing forward and looking to grab you and take you down, so he can land gnp. This strategy can work on fighters that are not as skilled, but I think Jenkins will be well prepared and composed. The first round for Don is all or nothing I believe, because Jenkins does get better as the fight goes on. Even if Don has some early success, I think Jenkins will work for a finish later in the 2nd round or so using a lot of leg kicks and picking his shots.

Lookboonmee vs. Reed
Loma Lookboonmee, DEC
There isn't much here that needs to be said, other than that Loma is probably better everywhere that this can take place. I know that Loma is a Muay Thai fighter, but she has shown an ability to mix in those trips and takedowns. On top, she cand land some good gnp on a bad grappler in Elise Reed. If I'm her coaches, I would be telling her to clinch, and then throw knees and look for a trip.

Bilder vs. Young
Shane Young, DEC
I wanted to go Bilder. If he gets his ass beat for 2 rounds and finds a sub in the 3rd round, I wouldn't be too shocked. He is very opportunistic in the grappling, but Young has fought the much better competition. Young should absolutely be able to stay ahead in the striking and potentially hurt Bilder. Basically, I haven't seen enough out of Bilder to be able to pick him against a guy with good UFC experience.

Tukhugov vs. Brenner
Zubaira Tukhugov, DEC
Pathetic that he goes up in weight and can't even make 155. He is the much better fighter overall though. Brenner does not impress me at all in the striking, and Zubaira is actually a good and technical striker. The path to victory for him is to pick apart the worse striker. He's had competitive fights with high level strikers, and even won some. Brenner getting out struck by regional level fighters makes Zuba the obvious pick.

More money coming in on Volk ML today, enough to move the line, people getting cold feet and saying don't bet big on the fight.

Keep thinking that bums, I know who's going to win and I'm looking forward to the enormous bag I'll make.
