I guess this is a hot take but I don't understand giving Cannonier more than one round. It seems to me like Strickland was consistently outstriking him and avoiding or shrugging off his power shots. Cannonier's leg kicks definitely hurt Strickland, but they never threw Strickland off of his game or opened him up for more damaging head shots. Meanwhile, Strickland's volume was starting to wear down Cannonier and consistently snapped his head back in the later rounds. I don't consider the decision a robbery, but I have a hard time understanding if damage is the supreme scoring criterion. Strickland's shots did more damage over the course of the fight, IMO.

I honestly was dozing in and out of the main event and texting and whatnot but what I saw I did think Strickland would be getting the nod. I took Cannonier. If I have time I’ll watch tomorrow. Here’s what the media thought:

Haha @Rah. I could study picks, your or other high rated guys picks or bet against poor pickers picks but then They wouldn’t be mine and be less fun for me. Believe or not there was a time…..lol. In the day I did lots of research, played fantasy all over payout leagues and fun and bet often. I been going well over a decade. Now I’m just here and junkie for ****s and giggles to make my favorite sport more interesting fight night. Sure my % has dropped but the fights are always a bit more fun with a small wager or fantasy card. Cheers to all you hardcore keeping it going. Fun stuff! Keep taking **** and whooping ass. Makes it more interesting for sure.

Yea. The fights were good. Paddy still worse Dec for me I think. I remember a few sketchy though. That’s been the way forever. Lots of people bailed on mma, fantasy and betting from it. Including the dude who recruited me from a fantasy team league elsewhere. It’s a shame they don’t have to answer for their calls. At least make them explain in interviews if not fine or investigate.

Good cards to watch but tricky to bet on, I'm not high roller by any means, I bet regularly every weekend small value 2-10 £ parlays only on ufc end up a year £342 up and taking under consideration I'm betting only to make experience more complex i think it'sa great score, all thanks to December's hail mary bet's. Overall great year for UFC fans but a bit too much hype pumping mediocre fighters and sold decision but i guess that's the way UFC is going these days.

Strick landed more but only 1 had much effect canon hurt him a lot.
Would have prefered a draw but rankings need a winner.

if Izzy can bank like 3 title defenses off of mostly doing damage with leg kicks, then I can see how Cannonier won. But I can definitely see the arguments for Strickland edging out a close decision too.
