If I remember the old rules correctly, you could still play in this season! I think the old rule was that anyone who started late started with 10k instead of 25k so I'm assuming the same or a similar rule may apply in this game!

He just missed the 1st event, he should only take the -500 for missing an event penality (my opinion)
