Dunno how you factor those submission attempts into the scoring. They dont get deeper than that. He was threatening the finish for a good portion of the round. Judges are gonna look at that.

I accept your apology Kyle. You do need to re-read the criteria. As I said ten pages ago.

Algeo clearly did more damage in rd3 but Fili was very close to finishing him with some of those subs, that round is very subjective, I think either way goes, slightly Algeo leaning but then again I picked him rofl

Those failed submissions shouldn’t matter, by MMA rules damage triumphs everything, Algeo should’ve won that fight.

I have no problem with Fili getting the nod, wouldn't have had a problem with Algeo win either. Just wish Algeo ended up with the w on a personal basis here since I put a +2000 bet on him in last minute of fight.

I really dunno. I guess it depends on how you interpret the criteria.

The rules say that it's not just damage, its moves with fight ending intention which includes submission attempts and damage from strikes.

I guess it depends on whether you consider the strikes landed by Algeo from his back as potentially fight ending strikes or not, or if Fili's submission attempt counts more. I actually don't know about that one

Yall got to stop saying scoring is about damage. It's blurring your minds to literally everything else that happens in a fight. They dont just give the round to the guy who landed the biggest punch. The scoring criteria is like ten pages long, full of if/then statements. Damage is the top factor, but its so much more complicated than that.

Yeah that one is actually a good fight to show any prospective judges and have them discuss after because it was close and back and forth and open to interpretation.
