Pacio vs. Brooks
Joshua Pacio, TKO, R4
I think Jarred Brooks has bitten off more than he can chew.

Not sure how you came to that conclusion.
Brooks has an extensive undefeated amateur career. He is also 19-2 in his pro career his only losses coming to the current UFC champion via split decision in which most thought Brooks won, and the other loss came from a botched slam in a fight that he was dominating.

Seriously, how has Brooks bit off more than he could chew...? What's your basis for that statement?

I disagree with your statement. You got it backwards.

I don't think either bit off more than they can chew.

Pacio is top-tier, and Brooks is also top-tier. They're both riding nice streaks littered with impressive names and big-time performances. Been back-and-forth on this fight since it got announced, and still not confident in the outcome.

Right now, leaning Pacio, but that could change tomorrow.

This fight is flying under the radar very much. It's high-level stuff and I think it's killer matchmaking. Brooks has always been good, but he's seriously hit his stride in the past few years fighting in Asia. He has a lot to offer, no obvious holes in his game, and a formidable title threat. Joshua Pacio has evolved so much over the years and it's been a treat to watch. Has consistently been clearly talented, seemed to struggle a bit with his grappling for a while there, and has seemingly completely corrected that aspect of his game.

Anyone's fight imo.

I think people are over rating Jarred Brooks because he fought in the UFC and Joshua Pacio never has.

that is a short-sighted view tho. His only losses are a controversial split decision against Figgy the current CHAMPION and a loss from a botched slam in a fight he was dominating. I just fail to see how you came up with the conclusion that you did.
Brooks has fought better competition imo and only lost once honestly. I think Brooks has the advantage but i'm also smart enough to realize this is mma and anyone can win.

No one's overrating anything. Brooks has only lost twice and BOTH were controversial (split decision to the CURRENT UFC CHAMPION) and a self inflicted KO. Since coming to ONE he's DOMINATED everyone they've put in front of him, including an undefeated 8-0 guy in his last outing. I'm not saying he's the greatest flyweight ever, but I think he has more than enough to beat Pacio. Obviously I'm not sleeping on Josh, he's a real threat and a great fighter, but I think it's foolish to say people are "overrating" Brooks

I love pacio, but brooks was also a small flyweight in the UFC considering he has fought at 115 and his last fight was 123lbs, fully hydrated. These are the two best male straights in the world by a mile will be great.

Also on this card:
  • Tawanchai vs Nicklas Larsen (Tawanchai probably gets Petchmorakot after)
  • It is all  but confirmed we are getting Fabricio Andrade vs Kwon Won Il
  • Jenelyn Olsim vs Julie Mezabarba

I would expect a good amount of Pilipino fighters on the card as they like to group them together.

ONE will put up another great event and Brooks looks unstoppable. I'd be impressed if Pacio makes it to the championship rounds even tho he is very good indeed.
Olsim vs. Mezabarba looks good on paper, they are both very entertaining. Can't wait to see Odin Delaney and Tawanchai back in action.

The originally scheduled match between Joshua Pacio and Jarred Brooks for the ONE Strawweight World Title has unfortunately been postponed due to a scheduling conflict. (One Championship)

Even if Buchecha wins, it won't matter. Accepting to face a can from Australia who hasn't fought in three years is sad if you ask me.
Solid card with a couple of rematches I'm looking forward to. Heavyweights bouts should be fun too. Can't wait to see Guto again after his last impressive performance. Opacic is a beast tho and of the best in the world in his weight class.
