I'd take Zalal, blackshear is ok but every decent guy he's fought on regionals ie Sabatello, Sabatini, Moutinho have beat him. Big step-up in competition. Plus Zalal is probably fighting for his place in the UFC so i expect him to be a lot more motivated.

It seems like Vera fights at the level of his opponents, his fights are usually close until he starts to pull away in the third round. He almost always loses the first round (lost R1 against Nohelin Hernandez and Guido Cannetti) then he wins the next two or finds a finish. However he also wins rounds against Aldo and despite losing, I think it was one of his most impressive performances. I am fairly confident in Vera, especially with the 5 rounds, I think Cruz may win two early rounds but after R3 he will be purely defensive against Vera's surge. I predict a late round TKO for Vera.

Blackshear beat the dog piss outta Mountnio Round 1 and started to gas round 2 and 3, since that fight he hasn't seemed to gas.

But yes that is the worse loss he has, but wins and losses aren't just black and white. Actually watch the fight before you ramble incoherent statements.

@Baron the more grappling I watch on Zalal, he really isn't that bad so I'm starting to comeback to the Zalal side.

All comes down to the weigh ins tho, really want to see how Zalal looks at 135.

Zalal is really good imo but the problem is he makes fights way closer than they should be

The Zalal fight has me going back and forth tbh. Losing to Moutinho doesn't give me confidence in Blackshear tho. Also, I don't really see Nam beating Ode b/c Ode at least beat Vergara, who I think would beat Nam and Nam is also older and doesn't have too much time left in the UFC

If he doesnt has the tools to win vs Moutinho by decision and gasses out against that guy, the Morocco Devil is goin to bad things in your gringo, Zalal is better striker than Moutinho and his best rounds are the second and third cause Zalal is a grinder I dont see the Moutinho's son winning this fight. Of course Black**** lost against two european fighters 😎 Sabatello and Moutinho, USA is rookie in MMA

The Moutinho fight was 4 years ago; where Blackshear was training locally in North Carolina and now he has been at Jackson Winks MMA for awhile, and Sabatello the guy running thru Bellator like a hot knife thru butter in their best division?

C'mon Andy 🤣 use that brain, I'm not saying Blackshear will win. I'm saying he has a pretty decent case to make it close and ugly, since he's a grinder with a chaotic/hectic standup pace.

I'm genuinely surprised how many people think Vera is going to not just win but finish Cruz. I find that extremely unlikely but obviously not impossible. Vera gets a title shot if that happens. I just don't see it.

While Rob Font has pillow hands, I'm pretty sure he landed a bantamweight record number of strikes against Vera in their fight. Dom Cruz is arguably one of if not the most cerebral fighters on the planet and has much, much better striking defense than Rob Font.

I could literally see a fight where Vera convincingly loses the first 3 rounds but decidedly wins one if not both of the championship rounds. Cruz will find a way to out point him and put him in too deep a hole before Chito can really get his reads and timing down.

Weird that so many people are taking Vera. The Munhoz fight left me more impressed than I have been in a long time with Dom. I dont see any area where Vera has him beat. Low volume striking and no wrestling wont work against Cruz assuming he isn't shot to bits.

Also to the guy calling Moutinho European : what? He carries the Portuguese flag because of his families heritage but he was born, raised and trains in the U.S. thus he is for all perposes American.

Dom is terrible style match for Munhoz and also a favorable match up against Kenney.

Predictions: 5 of 10 Winners, 2 Perfect, 350 Points   |   Tied for 2897th

Chito will be consistently landing more impact than Munhoz and Kenney were able too. 5 rounds probably favors Chito since apparently hes a slow starter. Dom is gonna hit a decline soon.

@Rusty decent podcast will definitely be listening to the whole thing, the Blackshear vs Zalal breakdown was very nice and detailed.

While most youtubers are like Zalal has been in UFC so he wins, while not even bringing up Blackshear's abilities or game.
