It may sound opportunistic to say it now, but the moment this Mo Miller vs. Joshua Weems 5 round fight was announced I had a feeling Mo would be submitted again. Miller is a good prospect, with a very solid wrestling and trains with Stipe Miocic. Miller's first mistake was fighting a heavy-wrestling base fight plan in his DWCS fight. 

What do fighters like Kamaru Usman, Colby Covington, Belal Muhammad, Curtis Blaydes, and Derek Brunson have in common? They are Heavy-wrestling fight style fighters who generally prioritize position and control time over damage and also prioritize volume over power, which is synonymous with decision wins that are considered boring by a wide audience. sector or late TKO/Subs after 10 minutes of ground control. Dana White and company are not a fan of time control fighters and that is why Usman had that fight against Maia after practically a streak of more than 7 wins in a row (while fighters with a more explosive style receive that kind of fights after 2-3 wins in a row), that's why Belal, despite having so many wins in a row, could only have spotlights in the division after taking the short notice fight against Edwards and for that reason Covington is supposedly almost released from his contract after his fight against Kim. 

Mo Miller's case was like Sabatello's case: They did win their fights convincingly, but Dana White was not going to give them a contract that night. His loss against Jones was because the combination of being tired + heavy-wrestling plan almost always leads to a guillotine / triangle / arm-bar submission lose or a TKO loss after the opponent reverses position or gets top position after a weak takedown attempt. Miller is a good fighter, but he has lacked to show that extra to enter the UFC. his 2 defeats have been just in a Dana White Lookin 'for a Fight and in a title fight in regional circuit. I sincerely hope that this 3 wasted opportunity to enter the UFC does not end up disheartening him and causing him to retire prematurely. Ideally, he comes back to the LFA, Miller wins a couple of fights, gets the LFA belt and after that it's very common for LFA champions to sign with the UFC.
