I actually think Baudot vs Parisian is harder to call than buys vs Durden. Buys isn’t as bad as I remember thinking he was after watching him. The striking isn’t amazing but he’s quick and his ability to scramble, reverse position, and attack subs is actually quite impressive. His cardio isn’t that bad either nor is the chin tbh; he recovers super super fast when he gets hit big but, the problem is he’s too reliant on the chin that he just makes it available to hit. Durden doesn’t have fantastic ko power and I think the wrestling is about even. I actually like buys to get a sub here as his scrambling and overall awareness is better on the ground imo. In fact, for as much as buys is a liability defensively, Durden makes just as many mistakes on the ground that I can see him getting subbed in a scramble. Buys always fights at a menacing pace and if Durden doesn’t flatten him out and get a gnp or ko him on the feet (very unlikely), I think buys will gas him out after the first or maybe even late in the first.

Like Tafon quite a bit, as a pick em.  What is Ulberg going to do?  Wrestle him?  Take him down?  Good luck.  For a kickboxer, his striking isn't much to write home about.  I think a pick 'em price on Tafon is quite fair.

likely a standup fight for 15 minutes but ulberg has good cage movement and will likely just leg kick his way to a decision

@thepri I agree, I think he’s the better fighter all around and has more experience. He’s also looked a lot better in his last two (despite the loss). Ulberg looked improved but also uncomfortable not being the nail. It was like he didn’t trust his cardio and striking after the kennedy loss. It’s good to see improvements but not if he’s not comfortable fighting like that. I think nchukwi will pick him apart

I agree with some of the things you've mentioned about the Durden vs Buys fight. I know the two losses on Buys' record look aweful. Especially because those were his only UFC fights so far and one of them was a TKO loss. However, I honestly think that Buys showed some good things in those fights. The Bruno Silva fight was competitive until Silva clipped him and finished the fight in the second round. In his last fight he actually went up to Bantamweight to fight Montel Jackson on short notice. He showed his good ground game, even though Jackson seemed to be bigger and stronger than him. Though he struggled on the feet and got rocked a couple of times in the fight (4 knockdowns), but showed heart and got it to the judges. That being said, I don't think it was his best choice to take that fight.

I agree with you that Buys has fought better competition than Durden, but their fight is just hard to pick because they are both solid wrestlers. In regards to striking, Cody has good low kicks, a good jab and good movement where JP is more of a pressure fighter and has ok boxing and timing. I have my doubts, but I think Durden will win. I think his jab and low kicks might give Buys some issues. Buys always plods forward, gets hit way too much and doesn't really have great striking defence or movement. No matter who wins, I think this fight will go to the judges. One thing is for sure though. Buys needs to win, otherwise it's game over for him in the UFC. So based on that fact, we might see a different version of Buys. Which is why this is one of those fights you shouldn't bet on.

I agree with your take. I think Buys best road to victory is to take Durden down and make it a dog fight. Durden's scrambles are also good, but his cardio isn't great. So if Buys keeps the pressure on him, he might have a better chance of winning. Especially because I think Durden's striking is better and more versatile than his. His jab will cause Buys some real problems if they keep it on the feet. I got Durden to win, but in all honesty I hope Buys gets it done. He seems to be a good guy.

Aside from getting his chick taken. I really wish the UFC would have kept him and Roman on the same card.

I hope JP wins, I find Durdan to be a massive wanker, And the judges robbed  my boi Chris Guiterez of a win over Durden,

But it pains me to pick Durden, my main reason why I'm picking Durdan is JP 1-3 in the UFC/contender series. He's only wins was kinda a weird one, And got drop 7 times in 2 fights, I think he's better then the stats say it is, But I can't pick a guy like that

I hate Durden, but I think he's better than what everyone is giving him credit for. I don't think he's ever going to even be close to a championship, but I do think he has the potential to float around 12 - 15 b/c flyweight doesn't have too many fighters. JP Buys kind of sucks if he can't get a takedown and Durden has decent wrestling. Baudot should win just b/c he has competent standup and Parisian shouldn't be in the UFC
