how many are sleeping on Islam? about a 100 so far on Tapology? because Islam is currently about -300 as a betting favorite...

this "people sleeping on Islam" narrative being pushed on social media is hilarious

I don't follow mass media, maybe you are right, it is what I saw on tapology, I also don't bet. Just playing here.

Islam is on a different level. Puting money on Oliveira is insane, but who knows.

Islam has that mountain people thing where you just grind a guy from the top for 5 rounds or however long on the ground, he has done it for 3 rounds, can he do it for 5 rounds to Oliveira... Maybe Oliveira will be a submission threat and negate his top game leading to more stand ups where Oliveira may be better with the slick Brazilian Thai boxing... Isnt Islams stand up not too great?.... I have said all that and it could mean nothing... Or it could be something... We will get to see

Nah nobody’s sleeping on **** but Charles. He’s a favorite on polls (and not a huge one) because he’s the champ. It’s disrespectful to have him as an underdog to a guy who took Thiago Moises to the 4th round and last fought Bobby Green. We’re making up for the ******** odds by believing in the champion. Also he’s just generally more well liked and the favorite

Olivera has more ways to win this one I think. Makhachev is traditionally a grappler, but Olivera holds the record for the most submissions in UFC (I believe). That doesn't sound like a guy I would want to try take to the ground and try to grind out for 25 minutes, but maybe that is just me. Olivera is also better in the stand up and I think can outpoint him for the decision if he needs to.

TJ will most likely beat my boy Sterling, Aljamain can only fight 2 round tops hard, Has no power, so he can't KO him, And TJ has good grappling defence so submission most likely won't happen, TJ won't **** it up like Yan did, TJ is the Jon Jones of 135, A massive ****, A steroid cheat, But is still the best if you get over that

TJ underated? I always had the impression, especially during his title reign, that he was one of the best Batmanweighs of all time. I atleast viewed him as that.

He looked beyond amazing when he was on top. With a alittle help from EPO of course now

Remember during his reign, I kept saying wow, he's either just a freak athlete or on some serious  BALCO level drugs. He was just so good at everything. Has speed, cardio, technique. Then Cody no chin garbrandt calls him out during one of the press conferences for teaching everyone at the Alpha Male gym how to use drugs 😆 then later boom pops for unmistakable injection only EPO

> I don't follow mass media, maybe you are right, it is what I saw on tapology,

Yeah on Tapology, for now, Charles is the overwhelming favorite at 69%. But outside of this space it's the complete opposite. So I guess if you're just talking about only this place, sure you are 100% correct and people might be underestimating Islam - but the overall MMA community has the opposite opinion from what can be seen outside of here.

> I also don't bet. Just playing here.

Yeah same

>Islam is on a different level. Puting money on Oliveira is insane, but who knows.

They're both on a different level in their own respects. Oliveira has shown he has an extreme variety and capability of being able to finish high level fights, and also find a way to turn the tide in his favor (complete opposite of how he used to fight imo). Islam on the other hand has shown he is extremely consistent and patient, and he has that thing Khabib did where once the grappling against the cage starts, it's like his entire body functions together in unison. Islam and Khabib always seem like they're 4-5 steps ahead of their opponents in grappling exchanges because they're doing top pressure, hip control, wrist control, wrapping up your legs with theirs, etc, while most fighters look like they're sitting there waiting for coaching instructions while trying to fight for wrist control. This is like Chaos vs Control if we can simplify each style, and that kind of match up has the potential to produce a fight of the year.

> bro, your picks are interesting.

I started to get really bored about like a year and a half ago, and just started picking all finishes. I personally just really enjoy that feeling when I predict a finish correctly
