To note on Diego Vasquez (not Vazquez) that is a pretty accomplished amateur grappler. One of the 500 Gracie's was his trainer and he has some nice grappling matches on YouTube.

The two grappling matches I found of Diego Vazquez (with two z's) looked pretty low level for a guy that has been in BJJ over a decade.

I did however find that nice amateur KO win of Diego Vazquez (his second to last fight). Please be sure to take note of his opponent

Vazquez did look solid in his first ever Amateur MMA fight. He submitted him real quick. But he was fighting a guy who was 1-0 after that guy made his debut against a fighter that was also making his debut. Schwenke has had a lot more MMA cage time is the reality. Could Vazquez submit him? Sure. It's MMA. But I don't really see it. Schwenke is a big boy who is pretty damn strong.

Any thoughts on the main event? It looks like most people are picking Diaz but Assis has a win over Jailton Almeida which is very impressive on paper. Assis definitely fought better comp even though he's usually getting KO'd.

Yeah man, so Assis is the better overall fighter on paper. Better competition. He will have a massive grappling advantage as well. A very significant advantage, actually. Diaz is not good on the ground. Diaz can end your night with one shot. He isn't to be trifled with and Assis has had that chin rocked before, so it is a question to consider. He showed some adversity in his last fight against a rising prospect. I think he gets it done here against Diaz. But Diaz very much has a puncher's chance. The longer the fight goes, the more it favors Assis.
