Culibao is one of the more underrated prospects on the roster and you’re on ******* crack if you pick Seung over him. He’s only lost to Jalin Turner on short notice in a weight class he had never fought in, whom now we know is a legitimate prospect. His striking credentials are limited, but efficient, and his grappling is
FAR better than Alex Caceres. Once Culibao has you in top mount, you’re ******, especially if you don’t have much of any defensive grappling ability.
You know who doesn’t have much of any defensive grappling ability?
Seung Woo Choi.
“oH BuT SaBBaTh, ChOi BeAt JUlIaN Er0Sa” So has half the featherweight roster, blow me. Beating a formidable journeyman infamous for having the ****tiest standup defense imaginable is not comparable to someone like Culibao, who actually keep his hands to his chin and not behind his back, cupping his own ass cheeks. Choi will get wrestle******, guaranteed. If you need a loan, put the house on Culibao, guaranteed your money back.
Culibao via R2 SUB

Quit?? He snapped his ******* ankle, most would quit. Not every UFC fighter is Josh Emmett where they could lose an arm and a leg and still drop you seventeen times in a round

You’re thinking about stats and resumes, that’s only a piece of the puzzle. It’s about matchups. Seung Woo Choi was originally an underdog against Julian Erosa, but knocked him out in less than a minute. Why? Bad matchup. Choi has nasty power for a featherweight and Julian gets dropped all the time. Same thing with Andre Fili getting knocked out by Joanderson Brito, or a metric **** ton of top lightweights Michael Johnson has beaten despite having one of the worst records in the entire roster.

Also, keep in mind, this is the same guy who went toe to toe with Charles Jourdain for three rounds straight and went to a draw. In fact, he DROPPED Charles at one point. I recall seeing many arguments that Josh was “robbed”.
Also, Alex’s wrestling is **** and he STILL choked Choi out.

The 1 way choi had lost in ufc has been grappling. Culibao cant wrestle hahaa.

“How is it a bad matchup?”
1. Culibao can wrestle. Several of his wins have been strictly from lay & pray, and two out of his five finishes are from ground & pound, so to say he “can’t wrestle” is straight up wrong when there’s footage of him smothering people to death from top position. And despite being unable to secure a takedown in the UFC yet, he defeated Sha using excellent anti-wrestling despite constant takedown attempts, showing that he can wrestle.
2. Choi has strictly only lost to grapplers, or…not even grapplers, just anyone who could get him pinned or trapped. He was manhandled by Evolev, submitted by Caceres despite winning the entire fight up until that point, and was choked out by Gavin Tucker. All these guys are top brass, no doubt, but we don’t exactly associate Gavin Tucker as being a wrestler, do we? It also shows that despite being extremely formidable on the feet, he’s damn near helpless off his back.

I don’t mind that you’re against my pick at all, that comes with betting on any big underdog, I just wish you had an actual argument against my points beyond “he has no muscles” or vein MMA Math ********. You know MMA Math doesn’t work, right? I used MMA Math once and I lost my bet big time, I can only imagine you loans you’ve had to take out lmao
