Tony Yoka, DEC
Bakole is very capable of upseting Yoka here. Thing is it's in France and Yoka is the no.1 Boxing star , hope for a future World Champ(also Olympic Gold medalist that the judges robbed off of Joe Joyce!!). My point is Bakole gonna need to KTFO him to get the decision win!!!

Yoka vs. Bakole
Tony Yoka, TKO, R6
Yoka is my favorite heavyweight prospect, he has already faced very good opposition, boxers with the caliber of Christian Hammer and Johann Duhaupas. He possesses great boxing technique and considerable KO power, winning against Bakole will increasingly lead to a potential world title fight.

I just found out that it's being broadcast on a UK Sports channel (Premier Sports) so I switched it on.
Just in time to see highly decorated French amateur Sofiane Oumiha in his 2nd fight against an 8-0 opponent.
He's schooling him

Yoka down in the 1st!!!!

I knew Bakole was capable of an upset. Didn't think he'd come out and put it on Yoka from the jump!!!!

Does Yoka have the heart to dig deep and turn this back around!???  Not looking likely!!!!

Like I said I thought a Bakole upset was possible but no way did I think Bakole would be beating his ASS!!!!!

For sure. Bakole has come a long way from that defeat to Michael Hunter a few years back when he basically quit from exhaustion.

Taking out Yoka like that, dominating from Bell to Bell, is a big statement! Doing it in Paris, Yokas home town, in front of a sold out arena is even better! Wow!

Top 10 for Bakole now. Off the top of my head I like him vs Joe Joyce, Frank Sanchez or Filip Hrgovic.  These Heavyweights at the back of the top 10 need to sort out between themselves who is going to move into Championship contention

I think Zhang Zhilei would be a good next opponent too. Not sure if it makes sense rankings wise though ( I don't really pay attention to official rankings).

Yeah, he's just as good as the names I mentioned. Zhang is just outside of the top 10. But he's undefeated, lots of KO's, has a good promoter behind him (Matchroom/Eddie Hearn).
I just want to see these guys that are on the fringes of Championship contention face off vs each other to determine a worthy challenger.

Like I said that was a HUGE statement win for Bakole. Build on that and move onto another big fight that means something!

Bakole beat Yoka handily, but since the fight was in France, one of the judges scored it a draw and Bakole won a majority decision, not a unanimous decision like it’s listed here.

Also Esabe beat Diaz by unanimous decision.

Did they really????
I was watching but the scores were announced in French and I just assumed that it was Unanimous.

Yeah, it was scored a majority decision. Given the fight was in France, of course one of them was going to give the hometown favoritism, but in this case it’s ridiculous. Yoka won 2 rounds at best and he still lost 2 rounds 10-8 as he got dropped in 2 rounds. At least they still got the result right overall and Bakole got the win.

I guess I should know better than to assume anything when it comes to boxing judges!!!

But man, like you said, 2 Knockdowns, Yoka maybe won 2 rounds,, MAYBE!!

At least the right man won
