Now, if you are Mick Maynard or Sean Shelby, do you let this fight happen?  I think if you are Dana, you don't give a **** and you want this guy beat up to send a message to him and anyone else trying some ****.  But would the integrity of everything be compromised?  I mean this ************ jumped the line and did so in one of the most dangerous weight classes, if not the most dangerous, that you could do this in fighting.  He truly could get hurt in irreversible ways if this fight happens and he has no business being in there.

I’d let the fight happen then cut him. Knowing Dana, he’s probably FUMING that someone played him like this lol. But I agree, having people who jump the line like this ruins the integrity of the sport; it’s not fair. And I see people keep bringing up the excuse “oh, but everyone pads records”; yeah but what separates askar from everyone else is how he has fraudulently manipulated his record to see ll good. At least actual can crushers aren’t trying to hide the fact their competition sucks

That ain't padding records.  Padding records is what goes on in LFA/Bellator prelims.  This is omitting losses, fighting under other aliases to gain experience but not having your record affected, and then falsifying wins in fights that never occurred.  This is... as bad as it gets.  This is actually worse than the Dan Severn fixes.

Just so I'm up to speed...this guy:
-Copied Conor's tattoos
-Clearly used steroids to bulk up
-Changed his name multiple times to avoid losses/doctor his record

they let CM Punk and Greg Hardy fight, I don't see why not give this fraud a chance too. you can even argue he's a better overall MMA fighter than both of those guys

Cm punk yes, Greg hardy? I feel like askar would get hit once and quit. He has a history of quitting in his losses too. Hence why he’s been finished 12/12 times lol

You guys realize he's fighting michilidis right? It doesn't need to be world class. It's good. He's clean quick and effective with it, the point is he has wrestling chops and if you watch the tape on both he is clearly the superior wrestler than mich. But literally nobody is mentioning the wrestling because they watched the 1 fight on dw lfaf and saw him winging wild punches at spicely and decided "okay that's all he has to offer, it's just which wild puncher lands first", and that's not the case.

Also *** is your problem thepro, 1 askar winning is not a hill I'm dying on it's just the side I'ma pick for the absolutely meaningless topology predictions. And then I said dusko would grind out a decision on chidi not starch him. And you know what that was looking good until it wasn't. Even so, you're discrediting and getting offended I picked someone you disagree with, because of 1 wrong pick i had last card? I'm sorry? I just looked and we both got 6/12 on that card so chill the **** out, it's okay a stranger online disagreed with you. Start planning out your short story about how I suck to post here if alanzo wins, I don't give a ****.

Thoughts on Askar

Predictions: 10 of 14 Winners, 3 Perfect, 615 Points   |   Tied for 2133rd

I'll preface by saying I don't condone what he's apparently done to get to the UFC in anyway and also don't want this to become a blog post. I'll try to be as concise as possible.

When viewed with proper context I don't find his back story as gross as I did at first. If you consider the fact that this guys formative years have been spent growing up in a war torn country like Ukraine, it's easy to see how he could end up throwing MMA fights for money. While quite egregious, the record changing antics and (likely, at least at one point) steroid use are all decisions he's very unlikely to have come up with on his own. It's not hard for me to assume given this guys circumstances that he's maybe not surrounded by the best people. He's the one making all the decisions at the end of the day though and should own up to what his true record is, no doubt.

So disregarding the fact that this guy's record isn't great and that he could be absolutely yolked out of his mind, can he beat Alonzo Menifeld? That's all that really matters to me as a fan right now. How he got to the UFC and whether he's getting cut after this fight doesn't truly matter to me. He's here.

In the limited tape I can find, he clearly hits really hard and likes to throw a lot of kicks. He throws a lot of head kicks whether its spinning or just a straight shot and he also throws a lot of low leg kicks. I think the odds makers probably have this one right because this dude could easily knock Menifeld out. If we (very graciously) excuse just his first 3 fights where he was apparently just throwing them for money, his record is apparently 19-9 as of this writing. That's not terrible, but the QOC certainly is.

Menifeld RD1 is probably a good bet. Have to give Askar a punchers chance based off of the tape I've seen but that's about it. He's 3 inches taller but will apparently give up about 2in in reach (I've seen him listed at 74' elsewhere). Outside of him just overwhelming Menifeld out of the gate and landing something super clean I think Alonzo easily cruises his way to a late 1st or early 2nd round finish here.
