Value?

Predictions: 5 of 10 Winners, 0 Perfect, 280 Points   |   Tied for 905th

Does anyone else see value on Lyoto Machida or Michael Page?

Lyoto is tough sell at 43 years old and fighting in opponent's home country... but on paper Lyoto's previous opponents all seem to be better grapplers than Fabian and Lyoto was able to keep those fights close. Fabian backers must believe that Lyoto has aged too much at this point.

Page's odds are confusing. Storley won 90% of his fight against Neimann but was momentarily rocked on the feet. Page is so much more quick and dynamic than Neimann. Having a hard time seeing Storley safely close the distance for 5 rounds, if he couldn't against Gracie. Then again Gracie has submissions and if Page's back touches the mat, he'll most likely lose.

What do you guys think? Seems like both could be worth a sprinkle

Enkamp looks like he is incredible shape and for 43 years old... I actually think Machida looks really good and vibrant at 185 lbs (that surprised me).  I don't know if he is taking his super beta prostate advanced... I mean his Hulk Hogan vitamins, brother.... But his body language looked a bit better than Edwards.  Edwards didn't look like he even wanted to be there.

MVP winning in my opinion will be one of the most significant wins in British/English MMA history and MVP reaching his zenith level as a martial artist, but he is against a gritty South Dakota wrestler who grew up on the mats grappling and who is also on a great team with momentum.... Its a tough call but I will be rooting for the Black Snake of London

This card actually looks pretty fun, at least the top half.

Page vs. Storley is a good stylistic match-up. Honestly, I give MVP tons of ****, usually understandably, but I respect him for taking this fight. You look at the landscape of Bellator's 170-pound division, and it'd be pretty tough to find a worse stylistic match-up for Page than Storley.

Machida vs. Edwards is intriguing. I fully expect Edwards to get the win but would be pleasantly surprised if Old Man Machida gets it done. Always been a big fan of him. I feel bad for Edwards though, because even if he wins, the win won't be taken seriously because of Machida decline & age. Which I think is a bit unfair, honestly. Machida is similar to Anderson Silva for me. No matter how old he gets, he is at the very least a tricky fight for almost everyone in whatever division he decides to compete in. You can beat him, and you may not look great doing it, but a win over him warrants serious props imo.

Kielholtz vs. Watanabe is another really great stylistic match-up and I can't wait for it.

Elsewhere on the card you've got Daley, Biyong, Weichel, Whiteford, Enkamp, Lemminger, Davis, Wilde, Rozanski, Green, etc. There's a lot to like here.

Bellator sucks at promoting their shows.

Prediction Comments

Predictions: 5 of 10 Winners, 2 Perfect, 315 Points   |   Tied for 871st

Page vs. Storley
Michael Page, TKO, R2
I like Storley but I think on short notice against a guy who can put you out with one shot this is a tough ask. No idea how the odds are this wide. I do not see Storley getting a finish so that means he has to grind things out for 5 rounds which gives MVP 5 rounds to land a killing blow. My only concern is if he is too worried about the take down that might stifle his movement and kicking game, but I expect him to close this out in style in front of his home crowd.

Machida vs. Edwards
Lyoto Machida, DEC
I think Machida is still too good a striker for the Wish version Edwards.

Kielholtz vs. Watanabe
Denise Kielholtz, TKO, R1
Denise should be too much for Watanabe to handle. Her only chance is to get it to the ground using her judo, but Denise has a good judo background too. I think this stays on the feet for the most part, and Denise should take her apart.

Daley vs. Giácomo
Paul Daley, TKO, R1
This looks like a short notice setup to give Daley a KO win on his way out

Trainer vs. Biyong
Luke Trainer, SUB, R1
Trainer is too good. This should not take long. Lock of the card.

Enkamp vs. Lemminger
Oliver Enkamp, TKO, R2
Ekamp is pretty good imo. He will keep active and scramble on the ground and on the feet it is not close. Lemminger has been KOd recently by people he should not be getting stopped against and I think Enkamp is going to smash him at some point

Jackson vs. Kallionidou
Kate Jackson, DEC
Really don't understand the love for Elina. Kate Jackson is good and has fought really good opposition. She is and should be the favourite. Unless Elina has improved dramatically I think Kate takes this.

Fisher vs. Korkmaz
Andrew Fisher, DEC
Fisher should take this

Ward vs. Carlos
Charlie Ward, TKO, R1
Setup. And a chance for Connor to show off to the cameras again.

Chadwick vs. Różański
Maciej Różański, DEC
I think Rozanski has had some really good wins and should be too good for Chadwick. Still it's a close fight and I could be wrong
