If an illegal strike is thrown but the fighter receiving it can continue, they get a point deducted. If they cannot continue and the fight has gone long enough it is technical decision, but they don't take a point away???? IMO if it goes to a technical decision the fighter throwing the illegal technique should have a point taken away going into the decision.

They took 1 point from Borralho, but not from Buday. Same foul, same ref, different result.

at this point we're basically watching a different sport every time we watch a new MMA card, even if it's from the same promotion. The rules are different from State to State, and country to country, the judges and referees are extremely inconsistent in their rulings and decision making in general, and certain outcomes are wildly different despite the same situation taking place whether it be judges scoring a round or a ref assessing a foul.

The whole DQ situation is really not difficult at all to solve. If you perform an illegal action, some sort of action should be taken. And since this is a sport where you are trying to stop your opponent, if the illegal action brings damage to opponent, the fight should be stopped. This clearly puts the victim in a disadvantage. And it should never go to the scorecards if there was an DQ. The person who threw the illegal blow should be penalized depending on the severity. And in moments like the Buday and Caio fouls, how can they be given the victory after they did a foul. 

This is comparable to a football/soccer team getting enough red cards where they can not continue. But they are still awards the win because they were up 2-0. NC is a step in the right direction, but penalties have to be stiff enough where it will deter future offenses or there is no point of consequences. 

The reason for this controversies and inconsistency in rules sets is money. These types of inconsistencies in the infrastructure of MMA enables more opportunities for manipulation on the part of the UFC and and every other promotion.

After more consideration, I think lazzez vs salikhov should be next. What a fight that would be 

I think Caio should of got DQ or at least a No Contest, I don't give 2 ****s if you in the third with the 1st and 2nd being 10-8, Fouls should be punish, That a problem with MMA, They don't punish cheating very often.  What stop me from shooting everyone who piss me off if I don't go to jail. It the same thing with cheating without punishment, Point deduction and disqualification. 

I think the rules should be you get 1 accidental eye poke or low blow, Then instant point, Any other foul should be an instant point or disquifaction, I don't care the intent, You did the crime, You need to do the time, I like how Marc Smith took point away in 2 of his fights he ref'd, I bet that stop them from fouling, 

I say that the good thing about Petr Yan getting DQ, It  teach Yan and scare other fighter to follow the rules. Even though I think it rough he lost the belt from a DQ then lost the rematch he didn't need to have if he didn't do the foul. But he did the Knee at the same time

You can't complain about fighter like Tim Elliot fouling people, That hate fighter get punished, You just can't because it doesn't make sence
