@gilese although I have seen his fight vs Solomon renfro and malott bascilly got peiced up the entire round until landing a kill shot and subsequently subbing renfro in the first. That’s the one good thing about him; he has lots of power and if he gets you on the ground he’s looking to finish you

I thought Weeks definitely slowed down in the third but man he was high output the first two rounds and was absolutely in that fight on short notice.  Him slowing down in the third was bound to happen with the 4 day notice.

IDGAF either way.  Ian Garry isn't going to look like a -360 or -400 favorite when the line closes.  That is insane.  I wouldn't bet him past -150 or maybe -170

Don't get me wrong, Garry should be favored but not -360.  Christ on a crutch.  I would be more inclined to pick him on Tapology to win but if I was betting, ****tt... I would rather put quarter unit on Weeks at nearly +300.  **** the parlays laying the chalk.

I will say for Garry, that at least he is with Sanford now and away from SBG Ireland.  What an atmospheric and financial **** show that place is.

The other good thing about Malott is that he is fighting Mickey Gall who... just isn't very good for a UFC fighter.

But if you believe in ********, Gall has been rotating wins and losses for the last five years.  He is due for a win next. lol.

Wouldn't be so sure about the Garry line closing. Remember that everyone will parlay Garry just like with any other hype train. I think the line might move further.

Thanks that's useful info on the Renfro fight. Yeah not much footage to go on. Like you said he seems round 1 or bust. Other than that all I've been able to gleen is that he's a striking coach at TAM and that his family are all ridiculously good looking and that his brother got drafted to the WInnipeg Jets the same week I think it was that Malott got offered his Contender series fight.

@gilese yeah he’s interesting because, if you read his tapology biography he’s got a very well rounded skillset. I still have 0 idea where his celing is but he’s definitely an intriguing fighter. Also very athletic because of his family like you said

And that isn't good that he was piecing up Malott, btw.  Solomon Renfro is a bum ass fighter.  He got absolutely toasted as a massive favorite in his last fight 6 weeks ago.  So, Renfro was at home (he is from Buffalo) for the LFA 125, as the fight was in Niagara Falls (like 20 miles from him).  A middling regional guy in Adam Fugitt (look that dude up if you have a chance) was his opponent.  Fugitt had been inactive for almost 2 years due to Covid and fight postponements.  Oh and he was flying in from ******* Oregon.  Fugitt knocked his ass out in less than a minute.  Solomon has some T-Rex arms and it showed lol.

Hate the Gall/Malott matchup due to the lack of tape, knowledge and lack of certainty of Mike's ceiling but betting wise, the value is STRONGLY on the Gall side which is something. Really don't like betting on Mickey but when it comes to taking advantage of a specific side I think you gottta go with Mickey's and hope that he grinds out a win. We have zero clue on how Mike will look after 10 minutes and I don't see him performing as a -200 favourite. The more the line moves in his favour though the more I want to take a shot at the Gall side. Contender Series fade is in full effect considering the price tag at the moment.

I hope the Garry line closes at -700 or -800.  I would be all over the underdog in that scenario.

The contender fade is the worst myth ever lol.  I like Malott to win this fight for the sake of tapology.  If I am betting it, I'll bet violence.  Both have questionable cardio.

"worst myth ever" is just not true. The fact of the matter is most fighters who get signed from DWCS have either lost too much and have gotten cut or are put in matchups with high price tags just because of recency bias. Fading them longterm is a winning scenario depending on the line, matchup and fighter. In this case, the line being where it is, Malott has close to zero value unless he comes out and looks like a killer with a quick finish or dominates for 15 minutes but I doubt both happen. If you think one of those 2 scenarios happen then power to you, I hope you cash but on paper it's a dog or pass at best.

It has nothing to do with them coming from the contender series.  It has to do with the match ups.  Some of these guys get thrown right to the wolves.  Mickey Gall isn't a wolf.  Either way, I won't be betting that fight because I don't like betting fighters with questionable gas tanks.  I would bet FDGTD if I bet anything.

If you want a real good fade, when someone says they are doing a retirement fight... 9/10 times that doesn't go well.

Them coming from Contender Series usually makes them heavy chalk in their promotional debut, it's hard to argue when it's factually happening every other week. But yes I definitely mentioned "depending on the line, matchup and fighter", but you're saying Mike should be a -200 favourite if not more and I have to strongly disagree UNLESS he comes out and performs as such but we don't know any of that for sure, which automatically makes the line way too wide on paper. Mickey is not the best fighter by any means but being Mike, coming off DWCS and winning a very winnable matchup, to becoming a sizeable favourite vs Gall who not only has fought better competition but has experience inside the octagon....it's hard to say that Malott should be as big of a favourite that he is. Either way the only reason the price is the way it is is because of the recency bias an hype from a potential prospect but it's all fugazi. DWCS fade is more than profitable longterm because of these facts, its undeniable unless you're talking about fading guys like O'Malley or guys that somewhat represent their price tag.
