Edgar's finish of Gray deserves the top spot for the same reason Mir's kimura should be SOTY: for who it was against. And while Hendo/Shogun was great, I rate the fight where both fighters weren't completely gassed by the 4th a little better.

the edgar fight was even more epic though. 4th round finishes are the best

Chandler/Alvarez was extremely exciting the whole way through. Maynard/Edgar had an exciting round, then Maynard gassed and Edgar danced, then finished him in the fourth.

Yes, tagging him with little baby jabs then running away while maynard just stood there, gassed, and took it. Chandler and Alvarez dropped bungalows on each other that actually did damage.

rounds 2 and 3 were all classic Edgar tiny point scoring jabs. In round 4 maynard was extremely gassed, and got finished by a punch that he didn't see coming. Not making excuses, Edgar wins that fight 9 times out of 10, but that uppercut was the only significant punch he landed in the whole fight.
