I believe this is a mandatory fight that can't be delayed, if Makabu wins he'll be looking at this fight in January than Canelo in May.

I still have left Canelo Makabu on the schedule as a Rumoured bout. But yeah, 1.Don King is involved!!! I really, really doubt Canelo, a man who went to court to get out of dealing with Oscar Dela Hoya, will want any part of a co promotion with Don King!
2. Makabu might well lose this fight here!!!! Thabo Mchunu is very good. He is a top 10 rated (5 IMO) Cruiserweight who is off the back of 2 great wins. Going into enemy territory in Russia and 1st defeating Russian hero and World Champion Denis Lebedev. Then going back to Russia and schooling Olympic Gold medalist Evgeny Tishchenko!
Of course Makabu has a couple of really nice recent wins in Russia himself. My point is that this fight will be a highly competitive, likely war, that anyone could win.
I want to see Canelo try unify at 175lbs anyway. Fights with Beterbiev, Bivol, even Joe Smith Jr are much more appealing and intriguing to me

Despite everything, this is a good fight! Genuine top 5 Cruiserweights go head to head! Tapology is awful confident in 1 guy when it's a proper 50 /50, even the Bookies have them close to dead even! Makabu is the tiniest of favourites at around - 130. More than 8% should be taking Mchunu IMO. I think I'm going to take him myself. He's the better boxer, Makabu the better puncher. In the 1st fight Mchunu was ahead on the cards before an 11th round TKO. This time he may last, he's definitely an improved boxer since then

This fight between a guy who is nowhere near any respected top 30 ranking faces a Shrimper who has never fought for more than 8 rounds, and its labelled as a WBA World Title Fight!!!!! The fact that its promoted by Don "biggest ******* alive" King is just the cherry on top of this **** Cake!!!

Even tho I still think Mchunu likely outboxes Makabu I remembered Makabu is a Don King fighter on a Don King show and with the added possibility of a Canelo fight there is no way in hell Makabu loses a decision!!!!
Since Mchunu isn't a massive puncher I doubt he gets the KO win he will need so change my pick to Makabu by Don King!

My point was really just about the Tapology pick percentage changing so drastically.
Hefney went from significant Tap favourite to underdog. Scott is an easier opponent, it's just that Hefney isn't great and is going to get KO'd by either of them!
Hey, maybe Hefney wins! Scott isn't exactly a world beater! He has 6 fights, all in tiny halls in Alabama/Georgia etc. against terrible opponents. He's also 280lbs at only 5'9"!! So he's not exactly in shape!!!
In future I wouldn't change your pick based on what I pick in my prediction comments. I don't lock in my picks until an hour or 2 before events start. If you ever do want advice or some extra info then ask me direct bud
