I'm amazed that so many people are picking Greg Hardy to win against Spivak.

I would say he has about as much chance as a snowball in hell.

Also I really hope no more fights get cancelled. I don't mind Makhachev Vs RDA as a replacement but would have preferred the Fiziev fight.

Please MMA gods, if any other fight is to drop off, please make it the Kennedy/Negumereanu fight.

All the other fights are awesome, even that one is pretty watchable.

Islam doesnt need anymore fights to prove he is title ready...hes been walking through every opponent for awhile now.

Its not about what is the better fight...UFC is also marketing and they would much rather save that up and coming guy that is going to fight for the title soon for a Headliner fight....not a fight that is the co main and thrown together on short notice. Thats just not how you maximize your business.

I get you guys wanna see Islam V RDA but from the UFC's standpoint its not the move to add it to this card on short notice.

I think Hardy does have a shot....he has the power to hurt guys at the start of fights. He almost put Tuivasa out but then bad fight IQ came into play and he gassed and fell apart.

If Walt Harris can come out and bum rush Spivak why cant Hardy?

I will still take Spivak though.

lol you are probably right. I like the Tsarukyan or Moicano options better tbh.

Not sure who wins in an RDA vs Moicano fight. Maybe RDA because of cardio and size?

If it happens I think its a bad move but I'll own up and say I was incorrect.

Tsarukyan and Moicano would make a lot of sense.

I think it would play out close but I'd edge RDA because I think he would be able to negate the Moicano grappling and have a little better gas tank.

The only problem I have with Islam is that the only fighter he fought that I classify as a top fighter at 155 is Hooker and Tsrukyan, I wish he can fight someone like Poirer before getting the title shot to see how he does against elite compution, But honestly Islam will get the title shot because no one else derseve it and at least he on a 9 fight win streak and he smashed a lot of them,

I think they should try and give Islam someone to give him that win to try and help hype the fight for the belt, RDA is the most likely option, But I also like Chandler or Poirer for that . Also it a lot more fun and intresting to see Islam agaist the elite, I don't give 2 **** about him raping middle of the pack fighters, But it not his fault because his fights kept failing through

Chandler is on a 2 fight losing streak....Islam would run through him and that would be that.

Poirier sucks against grapplers...Islam would run through him.

I dont understand what else the guy has to prove and why everyone wants him to fight more and more fights to get his title shot. He's going to absolutely run though every name you guys wanna toss out there as "elite" in the division and claim the title. What does beating an inactive RDA prove?

Charles Oliveira got the title fight with his last 2 wins being a washed up Tony Ferguson and bad fight IQ Kevin Lee and he claimed the title.

You guys and the criteria for your deserved title shot are pretty unreasonable.

Putting the revisionist history of Oliveira's resume aside, I think it's fair to want to see Islam pick up a meaningful win before a title shot.

Sure he might run through them on paper, but maybe he wouldn't or at the very least he'd face adversity. You writing off any elite guy that could face him is ridiculous on the basis that this is MMA, and Islam has lost before.

Having said that, I'm not against Makachev getting a title shot - lengthy yet paper thin streaks have gotten shots before (Mendes beat Guida, Lentz, Elkins and Cody McKenzie to get a crack at Aldo the second time). And it's not like relevant matchups weren't booked for Islam, bad luck happened and he ended up fighting more limited guys in Hooker and Green.

I'm writing a guy whos lost 2 straight and only has 3 fights in the UFC and a guy that struggles against grapplers off.

I could care less if you think its ridiculous I said what I said.

With Khabib in his corner hes not losing to any of these guys.

You guys wanna see Diego Fierra fight RDA? Seriously? You're getting up for a short booked RDA/Ferguson rematch?

You want to see a guy Fiziev knocked the **** out be his replacement (Moicano)? Would that fight even be at 155? That's not a terrible fight but Moicano has been doing well and I'd rather see him booked with a full camp.

Downvote my previous post into oblivion then by all means. There's lots of good fights still on this card. I repeat: this card doesn't need another MEANINGLESS RDA fight unless its at 170 against Islam.

It would be Islam's best opponent so far and we'd get a different look at him in another division. None of those other fights are even remotely interesting unless it's Moicano at 155.

Islam Replacing Fiziev

Predictions: 8 of 13 Winners, 5 Perfect, 590 Points   |   Tied for 1355th

I don't think people talk enough about how Islam is taking these fights on short notice. Bobby Green got a lot of credit (as he should have) but Islam did not get the extra time to prepare for the person he would fight either. Stepping up on 5 days notice to fight RDA is pretty gangster. He has a title shot locked up (barring a McGregor return) but he has unfinished business. 2 W's in 7 days would be absolutely crazy.
